On a bar stool inside the Zaggit Zagoo bar in the city of Zaggit Zagoo on the planet of Zog, sat a man who went by the name of Captain Jack Harkness. He was starring into the glass ignoring the aliens around him those Raxacoricofallapatorian, Judoon, Graske, Sycorax, Hath, and Coloured Humans. He watched an Adipose fall off the bar in interest.

The room was slightly hazy and the hair carried the scent of different species mixed with alcohol. He was in mourning for his lost lover, he ignored the opening bars to an earth song from the 1920's he had once known. Unknown to him up on the stage where there was a 21st century man who was many million miles away from home.

He was from Wales in the United Kingdom, he was dressed in a black pinstiped three piece suit without the jacket. His light blue shirt had the sleeves rolled up to his elbows and was loosened the top two buttons and a black mob style fedora on his head tilted over his eyes hiding them from view. His Welsh vowels started the first lines of the song only changing a few words.

the waiter approached the man dressed in a 1940's style and the iconic great coat. "from over there" he said nodding over his right shoulder as he put a note in front of the man. As an man in a very long trench coat and a brown pinstripe suit nodded towards the note. Jack opened the note 'what do you think of the band?'

Jack looked up at the doctor in question who nodded towards the stage. The singer's head was bowed and his voice was crooning

You weren't the sort of guy I thought would stick around

'"You lured me in with your cold grey eyes
Your simple smile and your bewitching lies

"'So, now my dear, I ain't the boy you knew

The Singer slowly raised his head with the last line of the song revealing his young face, mared only by the scar across his cheek. Jack looked back at the Doctor who smiled a sad smile and nodded mouthing 'It's him.' to Jack. The Singer slowly made his way towards the bar next to Jack and nodded. Jack turned towards the Singer and smiled "Yan? That you?"

The other man the smiles "Jack" his voice soft in his Welsh accent. "I'm real, Jack. I am here for as long as you want me that is the promise i will always make. You saved me from the Cyberwoman and you changed me I am now like you, i was in the dark when the golden woman came she said she brought life and she sought balance."

"How long?" Jack asked. "How long can I have you?"

"How about until the universe ends? Is that long enough" answered Ianto Jones.
