This is basically a work of fiction about how I think the Second coming would go over. This will most likely be offensive to shortsighted idiots that cannot distinguish fiction from fact.
There are many things said about redemption. A lot more said about goodness than that. But now, it's hard to take any of it seriously.
See, for as long as people could remember, priests have been talking about the day when the good people of the world would disappear, and the rest would be left behind to face the wrath of the Beast, an incarnation of the Devil, the Antichrist. This was an ideology that kept the churches of Christ strong and insured that frightened converts would pour in.
Maybe that's why the shit hit the fan.
To the dismay of the Churches, it seemed like the second coming had happened in 2010, but with disappointing results. Records claim that that the number of people that disappeared was roughly… 67 people.
Because of these small numbers, the Papacy declared the incident to be a hoax. But then things started to go wrong. A man was elected to President of the United States by the name of Alfred Bjorn. He was not a religious man, but he was a frightening arch conservative. He managed to make peace with Middle Eastern leaders using unknown promises. Five years later, they declared that Bjorn was an Avatar of Muhammad, and declared their loyalty to the United States.
Things like this continued to happen. Soon, all of Europe and the Americas began to respect him as a leader, and then worship him as a god. In all ways, Bjorn had become the Beast, and half of the world danced under his banner. Christianity was practically dead because of the pathetic assent to heaven earlier.
Now, it seems that the Beast has won. But guess what? There's something else that didn't go according to plan. Some of us are fighting back.
