I look at her from behind the rough bark of the tree, her long cinnamon hair
framing her angelic face, the rain causing her to glow like an angel fallen from
heaven

with dripping wings
heavy things won't fly
and the sky might catch on fire
and burn the axis of the world that's why
i prefer a sunless sky
to the glittering and stinging in my eyes

I spin around in the rain, the sun setting into the horizon, setting the night
sky on fire with streaks of orange and pink. Seeing a flash of gold disappear
behind the lone tree in the field.

I duck behind the tree, to hide from her, praying she doesn't come to notice me.
The cool rain splashing on my skin matting my blonde hair to my face.

I turn to the lone tree, wandering over to it peering my head behind it to face
those amazing blue orbs, gleaming in the now dark sky. Stars beginning to speck
the night and bring new light.

I look at her quietly not saying anything, my heart pounding in my chest as we
stand there under the tree in the rain, not moving but in our own way speaking
