Stick Figures:
Kate sat at her desk just finishing up some paperwork. The chair next to here empty. It had been that way since this afternoon. She paused at her paperwork and opened her top desk drawer pulling out her stick figure. She smiled as she held it in her palm looking at it. Setting it down she leaned back in her chair and watched Ryan and Esposito in the break room and wondered what they were laughing about.
"Katie?" A voice said behind her, she turned.
"Dad? What are you doing here?" She asked. He walked over and sat down in Castle's chair.
"Well I was sitting at home and was thinking how I wanted to spend a little extra time with my daughter.
"Dad I'm spending the night and I was getting ready to leave and head over to your place in a bit." She replied.
"Yes but I thought I could come pick you up and take my daughter out for one last dinner before I give her away tomorrow." He said smiling.
"I would love to. I just have to finish this and we can go." Kate said with a smile. He nodded and seeing the stick figure picked it up. "Alright I'm done." She said a little while later closing the file and putting it in the bin on the edge of her desk.
"You still have this?" He asked looking up at her.
"Why wouldn't I?" She asked.
"I don't know. You know no matter how much I hated that day it was one of the best times I spent with you and will always be a great memory." He said putting it back on her desk.
"What are some of your others?" She asked putting the figure in the drawer gently.
"Well there was the day I married your mom, then there was the first time I ever held you. And of course there will be tomorrow even if I do feel like I'm losing my little girl ." He said, she took his hand.
"No what I'll ALWAYS be your little girl." She said standing up and pulling him up as her pulled her closer for a hug.
"Let's get out of here Katie." He said.
"So where are you taking me?" She asked.
"I was maybe thinking Coney Island for an hour or two." He smiled as they walked towards the elevator.
"I would love that." She said as the elevator doors closed.
A/N: So this was just a little one shot between Beckett and her dad and the little stick figure. I just got the idea and went with it so I hope you like it. And yes she is marring Castle no worries penny for your thoughts!
