A/N: I don't own Bleach, only the characters I made up.
I could feel the blood running out of me. It hadn't seemed this cold before and my whole body hadn't been screaming in pain. My seatbelt cut across my throat, but it didn't matter that the other car had hit in the side of my car, sending metal and glass ramming into my body. I was going to die, I knew that, but not yet…I…I couldn't go yet…please, I can't die yet… And darkness was the only thing I knew.
And then, suddenly I could see again, but why was I outside of the car? Maybe it was some out of body experience and I would wake up in the hospital in a few minutes. But, that thought faded when I saw my body being pulled out of the wreckage and the fact that there was no mad rush to get me to the ambulance, my entire left side was crushed and I would never wake up again. So, I figured I was some kind of ghost, but if this was what happened when you died, then was there no heaven? And this chain in my chest…what was it?
I wondered after the accident, I didn't return to my family, I was dead and I knew they couldn't see me. Then, the first Hollow appeared. I don't think that it was after me, it was probably just doing whatever Hollows do, but I saw it, that white mask. And I heard it; you think nails on a chalkboard are bad? To me, it was every horrible sound ever created mixed together with an extra hint of deafening. At that moment, I forgot I was dead, I stared in wonder, shocked how all the people around me weren't cringing from that horrible sound. And then it hit me, you're dead you idiot, whatever it is living people can't see it. But, even the rational part of me had no idea what that monstrosity was, only that it wasn't something I wanted to me. So, I ran, my spirit body still feeling awkward and clumsy.
Over the next few weeks, I saw more Hollows and heard their screams, sinking with relief when they disappeared, not even questioning why they left. Eventually, the fated day came when I couldn't run. It came out right in front of me and locked onto me as prey, but I guess I got lucky, I was in the same place as the resident Shinigami. All I saw was a streak of black and white and then the Hollow's mask was split in half and it faded away. The Shinigami himself was pale with black and white hair, which stood up in tufts. He'd sheathed his sword when he noticed me, where I'd fallen flat on the ground when the Hollow had appeared. He stared at me for a minute before sighing and unsheathing his sword again. He bent down and hit me with the sword hilt just saying, "To Soul Society," before he stepped back and once again sheathed his sword. My body fell into the ground and into darkness.
