"That's where I get it."

"Drakken, I swear to all that is unholy and dark that if you do not explain to me precisely why I needed to get my ass kicked to get this… thing… for you… You will be getting your next meal through a straw. Because you will not be able to get out of bed to lift your arm to operate the god damned fork… Especially after failing to inform me it was at the bottom of a military research facility dug seven stories into the ground. I can't exactly jump out the nearest window when the heat is on in a place like that."
"Well you see, the synchronic harmonizer you acquired has to be adjusted in order to-,"
"THAT'S IT!"
I backhanded him just shy of hard enough to break his neck or rupture anything vital in it. Only just. Lessons like this one are rare… but they usually last about eight months. Tomorrow he'll be able to move his mouth again, and in the meantime hopefully he'll learn to be more sparing with his annoying words. He knows I am not a scientific genius, nor do I appreciate them.
At least I think he does. Sometimes even I wonder how out of touch with reality he is, and I actually have a degree in child development that includes major social deficits.
Ugh… clinical science. It's a wonder I ever managed to get my degree without killing someone. Yes it's only a bachelors', but that still requires practical and clinical work. Twelve hundred hours practicals in this case, mainly with children and developmentally disabled adults. And believe me, Honolulu U was a stickler on getting every last minute of those 30 eight-hour days out of you.
You see, my mother was a nurse. That's where I get my… charming disposition. She was a trauma nurse at Go City Memorial; basically one step shy of a battlefield medic. Less Nurse Betty and more Doctor House, assume everyone is lying to you all the time and you'll go far in this world. And I am definitely my mother's daughter in that respect. I brook no lies, no soft comforts, and no pandering avoidance. If I detect someone trying to skirt around me and something I need to know, or trying to shine me on with pointless bullshit…
Well they won't be happy with me.
Something I have to remind Drakken of on a monthly basis, and biennially drive home with grandiose gestures like today's. I may have traded in my sheepskin and that black pencil skirt for lock picks and unitards, but my outlook is pretty much the same: I ain't got time for bullshit when I'm on the clock.
Probably why I haven't killed Possible yet. If there's anyone on Earth who gets the "no time for B.S." edict, it's the girl who's scheduled to the gills. Besides, her mom is a doctor; so she gets a bit of professional courtesy.
AN: Just a pointless little drabble. When you think about it, Shego really suffers no fools, and more than once she has cut out on Drakken when he tried to treat her like one.
