CHAPTER ONE

Steam billowed from the scarlet train stood stationary in front of Platform 9 and ¾. Families huddled in little groups saying goodbye to their children before sending them to Hogwarts for the school year.

The largest group at the platform was the Weasley/Potter/Granger gang. Harry and Ginny Potter were saying goodbye to their son James Sirius Potter who was attending his third year at Hogwarts, and they were reassuring their twins, Albus Severus and Athena Molly, that they would have an absolutely amazing first year.

Boarding the train, the twins tried to find members of their family or an empty compartment but they came across a partially empty one, occupied by one person.

Sliding open the door, Athena smiled at the platinum blond boy sat down before asking if they could sit with him. With a shy smile, the boy happily agreed to let the twins sit with him.

After their trunks had been stowed safely above their heads, introductions were made.

"I'm Athena Molly Potter." The girl introduced, holding her hand out to the boy who hesitantly took it.

"Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy." The blond whispered, afraid of how the twins would react to him due to the feud their fathers had when they were in school.

"Nice to meet you. Albus Severus Potter." The male twin beamed, not even thinking twice about the boy's last name.

Athena and Albus had their father's untameable black curls and bright green eyes but whilst Albus had been blessed with their mother's vision, Athena had to wear glasses with a thick, black frames.

"It's okay. We're not going to treat you badly because of your last name. Our mother taught us to treat people as if they were a blank slate. To not let the actions of their family define them." Athena reassured the Malfoy heir as she noticed the terrified look on his face.

Finally smiling at the Potter twins, the trio spent the rest of the train ride to Hogwarts learning about each other.

Minerva McGonagall may be the Headmistress of Hogwarts but she still made it her duty to greet the first years and explain to them the process of the Sorting before leading them into the Great Hall. Trailing behind the great witch, Athena gaped at the vastness of the Hall and the floating candles that lit up the room. The twins stood next to Scorpius and watched as the Sorting began. A girl named Valerie Barnes was sorted into Slytherin and so were the Goyle twins, Vincent and Layla.

As Scorpius' name was called, the whole Hall filled with whispers as the students of Hogwarts gawked at the Malfoy heir. Despite being sorted into Slytherin, the Sorting Hat took quite a while to decide where the boy with the captivating grey eyes should belong to.

"Albus Potter." McGonagall called out, causing the school to start whispering again.

Letting go of his sister's hand, Harry Potter's son walked confidently to the stool and waited for the Hat to be placed on his head. Without a moment's hesitation, the Hat announced that Albus Severus Potter belonged in the house of Salazar Slytherin. Loud chatter ran throughout the Hall as the majority of students were shocked at that piece of information, but the Slytherin's were cheering at the idea of having a Potter in their house.

Ignoring the talk of the students, McGonagall wasted no time in calling Athena to the front of the school. The Hat dropped on her head and waited a moment to begin talking.

"Hmm, highly intelligent. You would thrive in Ravenclaw but alas, the House that will allow you to reach your full potential is SLYTHERIN!"

Even the teachers were shocked at the fact that both of Harry Potter's twins were sorted into the house of the Snake. Heat creeped up the back of her neck as Athena's cheeks started to turn red whilst she walked to sit in between Scorpius and Albus at the Slytherin table.

Albus gave her hand a quick squeeze and Scorpius told Athena that he was glad they were in the same house but the curly haired girl couldn't help but fret over how her father and brother would react.

Looking over at the staff table, Athena's eyes connected with Neville Longbottom's, her godfather, and he gave her a quick wink. Even if James ended up hating her, she was glad to know she'd still have her Uncle Neville.

"Scorp, slow down." Twelve year old Athena whined as she struggled to keep up with her friend's long strides. "My legs are shorter than yours."

Letting out a sigh, Scorpius bent down and allowed Athena to hop on his back before he continued on his way to Potions.

"You know, we should leave for class ten minutes earlier so that way your little legs will get there on time." The blond snarked, earning himself a sharp pinch on the back of the neck.

"Would you look at that? Malfoy scum finally learning his place. At the bottom. Doing what the more important wizards demand. You belong with the House Elves, Malfoy." A Gryffindor spat as he came across the two Slytherin's.

Michael Crowley was one of those wizards who still hadn't gotten over the House feuds and did whatever he could to provoke Slytherin's. Especially ones with the name Malfoy. However, he made a wrong move and instead pissed off the powerful Potter.

Hopping off Scorpius' back, Athena whipped out her wand and pressed it against Michaels' neck before anyone could blink. "Say that again and you'll find yourself in St. Mungo's for a very long time."

"Is that a threat?" Michael hissed.

"You bet your ass that's a threat. A very real one as well, or did you forget who my parents were?" The only time Athena used the fame of her parent's was to scare people when they hurt those she loved otherwise she tried to hide from the fame and glory. Unlike her older brother, James. "Or better yet, how about I tell James? He's in your House, right? And everyone knows how protective he is of his 'baby' sister." The green eyed girl smiled with fake innocence.

Gulping loudly, Michael Crowley muttered a quick 'sorry' to Scorpius before hurrying on his way, not even looking back at the little witch who twirled her wand around her fingers.

"Thanks, 'Thena. You didn't have to do that though." Scorpius smiled gratefully at his friend as they walked down the hallway of the dungeon.

"I'd do anything for you, Scorp." She bumped her shoulder against his.

"Likewise."

Third year was a good year and a bad year for the Trio. All three of them tried out for the Quidditch team; Athena got Chaser, Scorpius became a Beater and Albus followed in his father's footsteps and became a Seeker. Hogsmeade was now open to the third years and whilst the trio loved going on trips together, it meant that James and Albus had to fight off the number of boys that wanted a date with the daughter of the famous Harry Potter. Lily Luna had started her first year at Hogwarts and to no one's surprise, she was sorted into Gryffindor. Harry and Ginny loved telling people that they had two children in Slytherin and two in Gryffindor and that all their children still got along and loved each other. It showed that your house didn't define your life choices. It moved past the stereotypes.

On the other hand, halfway through third year, Scorpius Malfoy lost his mother to an illness she had been battling for a while. Even though it meant she was finally at peace, the twins hated to see her go. She had accepted them and loved them the moment she met them, she had even decorated rooms at the Manor and said they belonged to the Twins.

Adorned in black clothing, the twins sat next to Scorpius at the funeral with Athena clutching on to his hand with all the strength she possessed, and she didn't let go until it was over. Later on, when the Trio were alone in Scorpius' room, they sat on his bed and wept together until they passed out.

They were always there for each other and they would do anything for each other.

Albus was flying his broomstick in the backyard of Malfoy Manor, chasing his sister in an effort to get the Quaffle out of her arms. Scorpius was acting as the Keeper/Referee and much to his glee, Athena was currently wiping the floor with Albus. Yes, the Potter boy may be a star Seeker but he was nothing against the star Chaser. They were home for Easter and after visiting the Potter's they were spending some time with the Malfoy's.

Touching down to the ground, Athena left the fourteen year old boys in the sky as she walked into the kitchen to get a drink. Afterwards, she passed by Draco Malfoy's study on her way to the bathroom. Pausing at the sound of sobs, she pressed her ear against the door and realised the sounds were coming from Draco himself. Torn between wanting to go in or leaving him alone, the green eyed girl softly knocked on the door.

"Mr Malfoy?" She called out gently.

A shuffling noise came from inside before the older Malfoy granted Athena permission to enter.

"What can I do for you, Athena?" Draco smiled at the short girl. "And how many times have I told you to call me Draco?"

"Sorry." Athena let out a small chuckle. "Are you okay?"

Seeing the worry in the young child's eyes, Draco's heart warmed at how kind and caring Potter's eldest daughter was.

"I'm quite alright. No need to worry." Draco lied.

"But I do worry. You and Scorp are the exact same. He pretends everything is fine when it's obvious you're not. It's okay to hurt, and to show it. I mean, my Uncle George still cries over the loss of my Uncle Fred."

Standing up, Draco walked over to the sweet fourteen year old and pulled her in for a tight hug. Despite how much Draco had hated Harry Potter during school, he couldn't help but admit that he'd brought up an amazing young lady. One that Draco saw as a daughter.

"Now, you. Don't worry about me, it's my job to worry about you. Anyway, as the adult in this situation, I ask that you go back outside and continue with your game of Quidditch. From the sounds of it, you're beating Albus and it would amuse me greatly if you'd continue to do so."

"Okay but I'll have a House Elf send up some tea and biscuits." Shooting Draco one last smile, the girl and her untameable curls disappeared behind the study door and back into the hallway. Thinking about what had just happened, Draco couldn't help thinking that one day, that girl would be his daughter-in-law.
