"Touch it." Boomer offered, crowning his head her way.
Bubbles hesitated, stuttering momentarily at the offer. The room felt as if everything had stopped and warped around her senses, altering her into a different reality.
Here was a boy, who never paid her much mind, asking her to run a hand through his hair.
It was because he got a new hairdo. Gone were the long tendrils of golden blonde hair that covered his eyes, for a more modern cut that was shaven into a quiff. It disappointed her at first, that he cut away what gave him his signature boyish looks. The one thing that made her crumple every time he smiled or walked past her. But it seemed his new du made him look more mature, and for lack of better words... hotter. Girls were marvelling at him, breaking into whispers whenever he walked by, waving and smiling at him more often.
This effect of good looks certainly didn't stop at Bubbles, it engulfed her, breaking her momentary rage for a more subdue awe as he sat down next to her, fuming of fresh men's fragrance and warming about her left side where he sat at their group table.
Now he was turned to her in question, brows lifted and his eyes twinkling naively, an expression that shouldn't be matched with his new look, but somehow he manages to wear well.
She asked herself, "What would Robin think if she saw you doing this to her boyfriend?"
The answer was far from mind because, in the next second, she grazed her hand just above his hairline, barely brushing the sensation of it. Her heart skittered at the open opportunity of rubbing a hand through what many girls considered his best feat.
She wondered if Boomer could see it, her heart racing faster than the tempo of any song he or she had ever known. Or the thick swallow she gulped down from being so stiff and hesitant.
He smiled at her, "Pretty nice, right? Robin styled it for me."
She was blushing something fierce. Before she could answer, the bell rang and class began.
Thanks for reading! Sorry for any grammar or spelling errors, this was rushed as a last minute thing before work.
Hope you enjoyed! :D
