Awakening
"Wake up captain, something has happened." Stated the Spirit of Fire's AI Serina as Captain Cutter's cryo chamber opened.
The fifty-two year old man slowly climbed out of the tube, before hacking up a mixture of mucus and saliva. He looked around the cryo room before venturing forward to quite a few lockers which contained the majority of the slumbering crews' clothes."Serina, tell me, just what the hell is going on?" He asked as he opened the locker and retrieved his uniform.
"Well while you people were taking a nap, the ship and I floated around in this black sea." The artificial Intelligence retorted, observing as the human male dressed himself in his green uniform.
"Serina."Captain cutter said in a flat, calm, and annoyed tone.
"Sorry captain."Serina replied with her own annoyed tone.
"Status report, tell me how long has it been since we went to sleep, and how is the spirit doing?"The captain asked as he input the unlock code into a cryo-chamber's keypad.
"It has been exactly seven years."The AI reported as the chamber's door opened." As a matter of fact, you almost ran out of nutrients and injectable pharmaceuticals."
"What!? Why didn't you wake us up earlier?"Captain Cutter asked in a serious and demanding tone as a young woman with short black hair and brown eyes stepped out of the tube.
"Because nothing had happened."Serina replied over.
"Where are we?" The new woman asked in a yawn.
"How can you seriously be tired?" Serina asked.
"Serina...shut up." The woman demanded as she took a step forward, flinching at how sore her body was."Ahhh." She moaned painfully.
"Not so tough now are we professor?" The AI asked mockingly.
Just then the Room shook as a siren went off."Ladies, save it for later, Serina report."The captain said as he struggled to gain control of his balance.
"Oh did I forget to mention the Covenant?" Serina replied.
"Among other things." The young woman, Professor Anders, replied with a slight annoyance as she checked the cryo-chamber's date function.
"Well excuse me for doing what I was told."Serina retorted.
"Would you two stop it?"The captain asked.
"Fine." Both women answered an unison.
"Serina open all cryo-chambers, Anders, Come with me to the command bridge." Captain Cutter ordered.
"Yes sir." Professor Anders replied, falling in behind the Captain.
As the two humans left Cryo-Chamber Room C, Serina appeared on the room's holotank in her old young blue woman form."Do this Serina, to much information Serina, shut up Serina. I swear these fleshbags would be lost without me."She complained as the rest of the ship's cryo-chambers the inhabitants stepped out of their 'beds' she announced over the cryo-rooms' announcement system:"the captain wants all crew members to their stations, on the double."With that, the 'flesh-bags' hurried to get dressed and than rushed to their stations. Looking around, she soon came upon three cryo-tubes with humans in special green armor."I'm going to give you guys 'five more minutes'" She sarcastically said with an evil grin on her data-filled face before disappearing.
