After The War

Neville walked slowly through the destroyed halls of Hogwarts. Everyone was downstairs in the great hall celebrating the defeat of Voldemort, and Neville stayed there for a while until he felt he needed some time to himself. He really would miss it here. No matter how much he was teased or picked on, Hogwarts had always felt like home to him. He never really had any close friends here. Sure, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna, Ginny, and the rest of the DA were his friends, but they were never close enough to him so that he could confide anything in them. When they didn't have the DA anymore, Neville felt there was really nothing more he could look forward to here. In 6th year, that did prove true until the end of the year. However, 7th year, that was the one he would look back on as fondly as 5th year. Sure, many losses had been sustained, but he'd helped in the defeat of Lord Voldemort! He'd be remembered as a hero at Hogwarts.

Neville continued walking through the corridors, shivering slightly as the wind blew through the gaps in the walls, and in some places where there were no longer walls at all. He heard footsteps behind him and turned to look. A fellow Gryffindor was approaching him. She had a smile on her face, and upon noticing Neville, her smile grew broader and she ran and threw her arms around his neck.
"Neville! I'm so proud of you!" she shouted.
"Th-Thanks." Neville said uncertainly, he wasn't used to compliments.
She let go, and stood back. "You were great, you really were!" Neville smiled, and they began walking together.
"Is your sister okay?" he asked.
"Shes fine. A few bumps and bruises, but nothing serious. We came in towards the end of the battle." she replied.
"That's good"
"What about your Gran. I heard the Death Eaters tried to get her"
He laughed, and told her the story of how his Gran had overtook the Death Eaters and went into hiding.
She laughed and her eyes danced with laughter, too.
They stayed like that for awhile, just walking through the school and talking about old memories and what was going to happen now the war was over. To Neville, it felt like they were only together for mere minutes; but it was really hours. Another girl came into view at the end of the corridor, and she called to her sister:
"Come on, were leaving."

The Gryffindor girl, turned to Neville and took his hands in hers. "You were really brave today, keep in touch, okay"
Neville nodded. The girl leaned in and kissed him, then slightly red faced ran after her sister. Neville stood shocked for a minute then smiled. He couldn't believe Parvati Patil had just kissed him.

Fluffy oneshot. Haha. I've never really seen them as a couple, but I think it's pretty cute.

R&R Please. (:
