"Baby, get that will ya," she mumbled sleepily as she rolled over. "Alex! Pick up your damn cell phone now!" I could feel her pushing on my shoulder to try and get me up.

"Ok ok. I got it. Now that I'm up go fix me a drink." As she walked away I stared for a longer before finally grabbing my cell phone off the nightstand. I sighed as I looked at the called ID on the screen. It was Paige. I knew I shouldn't have picked up but this is Paige we're talking about.

Honey why are you calling me so late?
It's kinda hard to talk right now.

"Sorry but it's kinda hard to talk right now. Baby why ya calling me so late?"

"I understand if you don't wanna talk to me. I just need somebody to talk to right now. That's all. I'm sorry if I interrupted something." She sniffed and then let out a heavy sigh. I could practically hear the tears running down her face.

Honey why are you crying, is everything ok?
I gotta whisper cause I can't be too loud.

"Baby girl are you crying? I'm sorry but I can't be too loud." I whispered over the phone.

"No no that ok I understand I just wanted to hear your voice that all Alex."

Well my girl's in the next room.
Sometimes I wish she was you.
I guess we never really moved on.

"So I guess your girlfriends there?"

"Yea she in the kitchen fixing me a drink. I still remember when you used to make a rum and coke with the little umbrella." We shared a soft laugh together at the memory.

"So I guess neither of really ever got over what we had?" She asked me.

"Something like that you don't forget."

"Alex I sti-"

"I know Baby girl I know."

Its really good to hear your voice saying my name.
It sounds so sweet.

"God its good to hear you say my name again. I never thought that I'd miss that the most. Who knew such disgusting things could fall from the lips of an angel." I mumbled to myself. I know she heard it though.

"Jesus Alex nothing about you is disgusting. Now I remember why I'm still in love with you." She was crying again and I was the cause of it.

Hearing those words it makes me weak.

"Believe me hon. that was not my intention."

"You know its weird your calling me tonight."

"Oh and why is that? Dreaming about that night again?"

"Yea I have been actually. So does you boyfriend know you're talking to your ex-girlfriend? Cause you know I don't want to start a fight between you two?"

"He's not even here. I think he's out with his new girlfriend again." She sighed heavily and began to cry again.

All I could think about was how stupid men could be to go and cheat on her. "Baby girl I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry again."

"It's okay Alex really I'll be fine. So what about your girlfriend? Does she know?"

"Ha yea right! That would require her to have brain cells." I laughed.

"Alex?"

"Yea Paige?"

"You won't ever forget me right?"

"How can I forget the only girl I'll ever love?"

"Oh God Alex you're gonna make me cry again!"

"Paige you're my number one and don't you ever forget that. But look I really gotta go. You ever need anything and I mean anything you give me a call. No matter the time. I love you Paige."

The only reply I got was a muffled sob and a choke up 'Thank you.' But that's all I'd ever need from the lips of an angel.
