Summary: Meeting your father may not be what you always imagined it would be.

This is my first story so bear with me, I hope it isn't too awful to read.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Meeting the Other Half~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you grow up with knowing only one parent, rarely is there any satisfaction of getting to know the other. There may be many excuses and reasons from that parent as to why you don't know them or can't see them. They may range from excuses like 'he lives half way around the world' to 'he doesn't even know you exist.' Or the parent may give no reasons or excuses at all and just tell you that that's how it is. But for Peyton Kelly, she gets her wish of meeting the other half it just might not be what she expects.
*Peyton meets Joe for the first time*
(knocking on the door, Joe opens it to find Peyton standing there)
"Look I don't do girl scout cookies, do you think I get abs like these from eating girl scout cookies?"
*In the living room we see Joe's face on the wall*
"No there's no way I have a kid." Suddenly with that statement having been said Peyton realizes that maybe meeting her father isn't what she always imagined it would be. She then started having all of these thoughts go through her mind: why did you come? Why didn't mom tell you how horrible Joe could be? What have I gotten myself into?
At the very moment the situation might not have been the best for Peyton or even Joe for that matter, but there was no mistaking that Peyton wasn't his child. She looks very much like him that you couldn't miss the resemblance. Joe was coming to terms with the fact that she was most definitely his daughter and if he wants to find out what to do about that he must step up and take the responsibility for his daughter. Even though he may have no idea what to do, he has to at least show her he at least cares -- something he really hasn't shown her so far because he didn't want to believe it's true. She could prove to be a very big distraction. One Joe is not quite ready to handle. If he wants to figure out how to be a parent he has to start with at least talking to her.
'Parenting couldn't be that hard could it? She's only eight how hard could an eight year old girl possibly be.' Joe is in for a very rude awakening if he thinks that taking care of Peyton is going to be a walk in the park. He may change his view on that tomorrow when the real parenting starts.
