First Taste of Vanilla
Summary: Daichi didn't know that simple things such as wanting your coffee in the morning can change your life in a variety of ways.
Rating: K+ although I think "fudge" is a swear word :D

Hello! So this was supposed to be a fully-fledged one-shot but was written during a boring subject at school and so transformed into a drabble. Anyways, on with the show.

"I need a coffee" Daichi said as he went down the wooden steps that led to his apartment. He felt so tired that he could've slept right there and then in front of his own home. Not that anybody could blame him, since he studied for his exam the next day and their teacher was known for her curriculum that was composed of memorizing every theorem ever made, thus his need for coffee. Luckily for him, his home was just a block away from a café.
He approached the petite shop, seeing the familiar sign with "The Coffee Corner" written on it. This was his favorite café and he had already visited here many times before. The inside of the café was simple enough, with paintings lining its walls and refreshing music always playing in the background.
Daichi approached the counter, not even looking at the person behind it and said "My usual please". "Umm… your usual?" inquired an ash haired boy. Daichi was surprised. He knew everyone in this shop and most of the staff knew him as well yet he never saw a guy with ash colored hair, a beauty mark under his eye, and a smile that could cause world peace.
"Umm…" Daichi stuttered. "Umm…?" the boy said patiently, waiting for Daichi's order while still wearing his trademark smile. "A cappuccino please" Daichi coughed out. Never in Daichi's life has he ever stuttered, ever. Yet he became so absorbed with the man in front of him that he actually did just that.
Suddenly, the door to the manager's office opened and out went Kuroo Tetsurou, Daichi's classmate during high school. "Ah, Daichi, I see you have met our new barista. Daichi, this is Sugawara. Suga-chan, meet Daichi." Kuroo said, introducing the two men. "Now, Suga-chan, I have a date today so can you take care of the shop for me today? I'll be back at 10 o'clock later" Kuroo said to Sugawara. "Sure, good luck with your date" Suga cheerfully said.
Daichi then looked at the clock by the office and, seeing the time, suddenly exclaimed "Oh fudge, I need to go as well." Daichi left the café so fast that he didn't hear Suga call out "Wait! You forgot your cappuccino!" He tried to run after him but Daichi already closed the door behind him.
"Well that was weird. But seriously, "fudge" is a really adorable swear word. I didn't expect that" Suga commented, chuckling lightly. "Haha, I'm sure you'll find him great once you get to know him. Anyways, bye Suga-chan. Keep the shop up for me" Kuroo said cheerfully. Kuroo closed the door, leaving Suga alone in the shop.
"Hmmm… I wonder who Kuroo-san's date is?" he contemplated as the first wave of customers started to enter the café.
