When it Rains:

Yuki hated storms- actually it would be more appropriette to say that they terrified him.- When he was smaller, and Kanata was still at the orphanage, it wasn't uncommon for Yuki to crawl under the covers with him and cling to the older boy till, exhausted, he finally just passed out.
Yuki always cherished being able to sleep next to someone else, it was a comfort- he hadn't had that luxury in a long time. If it stormed, he pulled the pillow over his head and grit his teeth, trembling until the storm passed- Tonight was one such night.
The storm raged wildly outside his window, rattling the latch and frame- Twilight Hall in all it's unfamiliarity was terrifying, a whimper fled his lips despite his best effort to keep it in, as a crack of lightning streaked by his window, followed closely my a rumbling roar of thunder.
The power had gone out not long ago, and in the dark he was all the more afraid. When the knock came at his door, he jumped.
"Yuki-!" It was Lukas voice that met his ears. Relief swept through his body and he opened his mouth to answer just as another crash of thunder banged down from the sky- a small scream escaped as he lept from the bed and raced to the door- "Yuki-!?" Lukas worried voice- almost panicked- sounded from behind the door as the smaller boy tore the door open and crashed into the others arms with another roll of thunder.
Yuki sucked in a big gulp of Lukas warm, sweet scent, his heart pounding so hard against his ribcage he thought it might break free. Lukas silver eyes were wide with surprise, but out of instinct, his arms wrapped around the body now clinging to him, whimpering softly.
Luka hushed him gently, pressing a kiss into the blond hair. "I've got you, It's okay..." He whispered. "I'm here..."
Luka was well aware of the boys terrible fear, he'd possessed it before. But the Duras merely held him, and listened to the racing heart calm steadily in his arms. It brought a gentle smile to his face, to know his very presence could still be such an anchor for Yuki despite everything...
"I will never betray you." He murmured as Yuki began to doze off. "I love you.." He whispered to the sleeping boy, as he lifted him carefully and returned him to bed- forced to lie down when Yuki's sleeping grip would not release him, he ginglerly laid himself out beside the other, slipping an arm around the boys slim waist.
He remained until the storm passed completely in the early morning, then he left with a gentle press of lips to Yuki's head.
