Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
The Alternate Ending
A sort of explosion took place in the pit of Harry's stomach. 'What? Live with you, leave the Dursley's?' 'Of course, I knew you wouldn't want to, I just thought, if you wanted another home.' 'Of course I want to leave the Dursley's, do you have a house? Can I move in right away?' Sirius smiled, a true smile, one that kindled Harry's memory of Sirius in his parent's wedding picture. He smiled, too.
Crookshanks leapt up from the slimy ground of the tunnel and squirmed through the roots of the Whomping Willow, pressing its paw on the small knot, which made the willow still. Lupin made his way up through the branches first, with Ron and Peter with him. Sirius lifted his wand carefully, and Snape drifted his way up, looking like he was being lifted by thousands of invisible, helium-filled balloons. Then went Hermione, Harry and Sirius.
Outside they saw a peculiar sight. Lupin was writhing in agony on the ground, with Ron still attached to him. Pettigrew had vanished. Sirius looked up, and his smile faded. It was the full moon. 'He's changing!' Screamed Hermione. Harry turned round. Were Sirius once was, there was the enormous, black dog. It bounded forward and lunged onto the werewolf. It bit through the ropes binding Ron and Lupin together. Hermione rushed forward to Ron. 'No!' Harry Shouted. 'Enervate' said Hermione, with her wand against Ron's temple. He woke instantly, and Hermione led him to safety. They could do nothing now, but wait.
The battle between Sirius and Lupin raged on. Harry could tell Sirius was holding back, not wanting to hurt Lupin, but the werewolf was showing no mercy, eventually, They delivered fatal blows, and they both fell to the ground. Harry, Ron and Hermione rushed forward. Sirius turned back into his human form and groaned. He had great slashes across his chest and was holding a bleeding arm. Lupin was breathing, but he seemed to be unconscious. 'Go and get Dumbledore' Harry said to Hermione. She ran towards the school, stumbling in the darkness. 'What now?' whispered Ron. He was shivering and in the moonlight looked very pale. 'I don't know' retorted Harry. He glanced around at Snape. 'I think we should just wait until Dumbledore gets here, and explain to him.' 'Do you think he'll believe us?' 'I think not' said a voice behind them, a voice as cold as the chill, night air. Harry and Ron turned round. Snape had awaked.
