Persona 5 Fanfiction - Where I Belong
*Slap
He looked down as a piercing screech tore through the silent and suffocating air, his unkempt hair covering his eyes, the frames were nowhere to be found.
"Worthless!" The voice screeched again, enough to let others cover their ears. But he didn't.
"You disgraced our name! Scram!"
He looked up to his "dear" mother with a truly flat expression, nothing seems too out of the ordinary, except for the fresh red handprint that appeared on his cheek, maybe bruised a little.
He didn't react to the pain. It doesn't hurt, it's just numb. He felt nothing.
He felt he was nothing.
His father as always, just stood there quietly watching the drama. Teased him as his wife stormed off.
"Nothing would have happened if you didn't try to be a hero."
The teenager tried to ignore what his old man said after. Slowly climbing up the stairs and twisting the doorknob of his room.
Soon as he closed the door, he broke into silent sobs. It hurts, it hurts so much. His heart is aching, twisting.
He already tried his best, so why?
They don't like his frizzy hair that looks messy, so he made sure that it's neat and tidy with every hair gel he could find, not a single strand to be found out of place. They hoped he can focus on his studies instead of wasting his time doing those unnecessary things, so he tried not to talk much, he tried not making friends, he tried to not stand out, he tried to stay overnight studying until he memorizes everything in the book.
He tried...he really tried...
He's really tired.
Their relationship is already far beyond repair, so he tried so hard to impress them, yet he wasn't good enough. He caused trouble, and it gave the opportunity to send him away. They must really happy about it.
He cried silently, feared that his parents might find out he's crying.
But silent tears...
Are often harder to take than wails of sorrow, they may be quiet, but they hit hard.
The night, is too dark...
Please, can no one really hear his cry?
On another part of the world...

Aoyama Cemetery
"A burdened heart sinks into the ground..."
"A veil falls away without a sound..."
A girl can be seen around a gravestone, with chin-length hair with the colour of chestnut and eyes of blue, but what's most striking is the bandage warped around her neck out of blue.
The girl sang with her silvery voice. Slowly, she tidied up a gravestone as the leaves from the tree that stands just above was scattered around and on the gravestone. She did it carefully, tip-toeing around the gravestone, her foot crunches on the cold, grey gravel, cautiously walk around the gravestones that lined up perfectly with those in front and behind. So she doesn't disturb who's sleeping down there.
There aren't any people around, maybe it's because the season of hanami was over. Someone will only care about you when you're still useful, and leaves when you're deemed useless. It even applies to places.
"Nor day nor night, wrong nor right..."
"For truth and peace, you fight..."
She stood in front of a gravestone, with a bouquet of gladiolus on her hand. Gently replacing the withered same type of flower.
"Sing with me a song of silence and blood...the rain falls but can't wash away the mud..."
"Within my ancient heart dwells, madness and pride..."
She looked up to the sky as she sang the next phrase, more like ask to be precise.
"Can no one hear my cry?"
