I just wondered what would have happened when Sam told the guys she was engaged.
Sam took a deep breath before entering the office where Jack, Daniel and Teal'c were standing waiting for her.
"Hi guys," she smiled entering the room.
All three men turned and in unison leaned against Jack's desk, Daniel in the middle of the other two.
"So," Jack broke the silence, "What's up, Carter?"
Sam looked at the three men who had become her family over the past few years and took a deep breath.
"Pete asked me to marry him," Sam told them.
"Which we already know," Jack motioned for her to hurry up.
"Well…I…" Sam showed them the ring she was sporting on her left hand, "I said yes."
To her surprise and disappointment only Daniel grinned, the other two looked more annoyed than anything.
"Two days, Carter," Jack snapped as he and Teal'c both pulled out twenty dollar bills and handed them to Daniel, "You couldn't wait two days to say yes?"
Realisation dawned on her, "You bet on when I'd say yes?"
"And this surprises you why?" Daniel asked as he moved to hug her tightly, "Congratulations, Sam."
"We are all extremely pleased for you, Samantha Carter," Teal'c told her giving her a tight hug also.
"It's about time," Jack grinned at her before frowning slightly, "I have a question though."
"Yes?" Sam asked suspiciously.
"Pete knows about your job," Jack said, "Which he accepts and that's great. But has he met your father?"
"Funny," Sam grimaced at him as the other two laughed.
"Come on," Daniel slung his arm around her shoulders, "With my winnings I'll buy you a drink."
Sam grabbed the money out of his hand, "You can buy dinner too."
Once they'd left the room Jack turned to Teal'c, "Guess we'd better not tell her about the bet on how long it'll take for her to dump him."
