No one knew where Verde Blanka came from, or why she even came to be. Esperanto, one of the most widely spoken created languages on the planet, was not supposed to have national ties. There was no proper nation, however, for Verde to represent. She more or less represented the international ties that make up the community; that's what most of the nations think, at the very least.
It was a bright morning when Eduard von Bock got up. He had a lot to look forward to, what with being in charge of the World Summit being held later that day and all. As he made his way downstairs to his kitchen, a knock came to the front door, and a letter fell through the slot. "I hope it's not another threat from Ivan," he whispered with a voice full of worry.
Shakily, he tore open the snow white envelope. The paper inside was a rich green, an odd choice of colour. "To Eduard von Bock," he read aloud to himself, "I would like to inform you that a new nation will be joining the World Summit at the last moment." He paced around as he read, scanning every detail about this new nation. This was great news, if they were nice!
A few hours later, at the build not far from his home in Tallin, he looked around for this new nation. It wasn't until he recieved a tug on his sleeve that he saw who he was looking for. "Oh, hello! You must be the new country, yes?"
The other nodded. Their white hair came to about their shoulders, and the ends were tipped with green. "Mia nomo estas Verde Blanka, aĆ Esperanto," they said quietly, "Kaj via nomo estas?" Their emerald green eyes were wide with curiosity, something that Eduard had not seen in many years.
"I'm sorry, could you repeat that in English, at least?" He had never heard this language before, or at least up close.
They laughed and nodded. "My name is Verde Blanka, or Esperanto. And your name is?"
Eduard smiled and shook Verde's hand. "Eduard von Bock, also known as Estonia. Welcome to the World Summit."
"Estonia? Ah, yes, I've heard of you. Well, I've heard of everyone here, but that's beside the point. It's a pleasure to meet you." She gave a sigh and smiled.
The other continued smiling until he began to tremble at some unknown prescence behind Verde. "V-Verde?"
