Tears silently run down a young elf's cheek, clutching her father's hand as they gracefully stride through the blissful forest. The young elf turns quickly in front of her father, piercingly staring at him eye-to-eye, "Father, why? Please stay. Please..." She starts to sob and buries her head into his cloak, then mumbles, "I know you might think that I am too young to understand what is going on in the world... but i am not. I know about the ring and Mordor also the war. But Father... Why you? Why can't you just stay home and watch me grow up?" Just before the elder spoke, the young elf ran to her tree house to greet her mother in tears. "Mother I must go, I promise to both you and Metriyl that I will return with no wounds or scars, just stories and memories... I promise." The two elves climbed on their horses and gave a sorrowful nod good-bye as they galloped into the distant horizon. Loud cries echo in the foothills, "Father, Brother! Come home!...." A dewy mist lingers in the air, the trees... silent, still waiting to be awoken by the fiery glare of the sunrise. A year after her father, Lamosè and brother, Gilliam left for helms deep. Her mother, Steph'anie has not aged at all, she is still beautiful and wise as once before. "I hope you like pancakes, mother." she uttered to her. "Coming Metriyl." Steph'anie and Metriyl sat to take a bite of their excellently made pancakes, when Steph'anie herd a soft tap on the door, "I will get it dear." The elder stood, wobbling but stable and trotted to the door. Metriyl is very exited, 'Maybe its father and Gilliam, returning from battle!' she thought. Steph'anie swung the large wooden door open with one quick movement. "Oh, Hello Elrond.." "G'day Steph'anie, May I speak with you?" "Why sure... come take a seat." Metriyl snuck into earshot and listened carefully... "Steph'anie, first.. How are you and Metriyl?" "We are making it, and can't wait for Lamosè and Gilliam to return home." "Well Steph'anie, I might not have the news you are looking for..." Before Elrond could even say another word Steph'anie and Metriyl both screamed in sorrow and mourning. "THEIR DEAD? DEAD?.." She started punching a pillow and yelling, "DEAD! DEAD! DEAD! DEAD! DEAD!" Metriyl ran in sobbing and stopped her mothers fit. "I'm sorry... is there anything I can do?" Steph'anie and Metriyl were crying together, and that one event that inspired a epic adventure of a lifetime.....
