Steve slowly closed the door and called out "Hello?" silence met him which was odd. He had taken the afternoon off to surprise his husband. Shrugging he hung up his jacket and walked towards the kitchen pausing after hearing music coming from his study. Smiling he turned down the hall and pushed open the door, what he was about to say next died on his lips. Bucky was cleaning, which in itself wasn't unusual. He had admitted cleaning made him relax and think. What was unusual was his attire; he was in skin tight shorts with no shirt. Steve licked his lips as he stared; he was broken out of his trance by Bucky singing.
"Don't blame it on sunshine. Don't blame it on moonlight. Don't blame it on good time. Blame it on the boogie." Bucky danced across the floor wiggling his shoulders and swaying to the beat. Steve grinned and leaned against the door jam silently watching the show.
"I just can't, I just can't, I just can't control my feet." He shuffled across the floor and used the feather duster as a microphone.
"Don't blame it on the sunshine. Don't blame it on the moonlight. Don't blame it on good times. Blame it on the…." Bucky spun around in his dance and stopped dead in his tracks.
"Steve!" he squeaked pulling the feather duster close to his chest feeling the heat rise on his cheeks.
"Um hi….How long have you been standing there?" he asked. Steve just chuckled and pushed off the door jam slowly approaching Bucky.
"Long enough to know, My baby's always dancin' and it wouldn't be a bad thing. But I don't get no lovin' and that's no lie." Steve stated evenly seeing Bucky's eyes light up as he quoted the song he was just dancing to.
"You know the Jacksons?" Bucky blushed even more but smiled.
"Of course I do." Steve chuckled before placing a soft kiss on Bucky's lips,
"Now get that boogying butt upstairs and put on some real clothes, I made plans for us." Steve pushed Bucky towards the door and with a soft swat to his backside sent him on his way.
I was dancing in the kitchen to this song and just imagined this happening. I don't know where all these cute drabbles keep coming from but oh well.
