This was my first fanfic back in 2012, so my writing was kind of bad, I am currently revising and combining most of the chapters, so expect that the chapters and title won't match the old version. I'm working on the other chapters, so I hope you guys can bear with me until then.

Another thing, I used to use the Eng dub names, but I switched it back to Japanese. I can't seem to keep track of the English names since I haven't really watched all of them. I hope this won't affect the story or anything. I'll try to minimize the use of Japanese words or honorifics.

This is the revised chapter one, I hope you guys like it.

Disclaimer: I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh GX or any of the characters

It had been a month since they had returned from the Dark World. Most students still had no idea of what had transpired during their second visit there and Judai intended to keep it that way. It was already bad enough that the professors knew what had happened and was keeping a close eye on him.

He and the others hadn't spoken much after what happened during the Dark World. Judai suspected that they were avoiding him. But at this point, he'd rather they gang up on him and force him to tell the truth of the final battle. Being surrounded by friends ever since he had been admitted, supporting him throughout every hardship had grown on him. The sudden silence in the Slifer Red dorms was cold and disturbing.

Even if Yubel was with him, that still didn't make up for the presence of his friends. Judai missed them, the thought that they would continue to stay at a distance was unbearable. Even his dreams were starting to reflect that. Every time he closed his eyes, he could hear someone calling for him.

Brown eyes fluttered open to meet the blue sky. Sometimes, Judai wished he wouldn't wake up. Staying in his dreams where he could revisit the past days with his friends was a lot more alluring than the reality.

Yubel appeared next to him and said, "What's the matter Judai?"

He knew she was worried about him. Yubel had made him sleep after finding out he had been staying up all night. Waking up suddenly was probably not what she expected. Though Judai hadn't told her this wasn't the first time he had the urge to wake up.

"My name, being repeated." Judai remembered clearly, how the soft voices called out to him, day and night, in his dreams, "Over and over again."

"Judai." Yubel trailed off, her wings beating nervously. Judai knew what she was going to tell him. That it was probably nothing and he should focus on getting some rest.

So he smiled softly at her, "Perhaps I'm just hearing things."

Yubel seemed to accept this and nodded, vanishing once again. Judai waited for a few minutes before standing up himself and stretching a bit.

"Another brand new day." He muttered, walking towards the stairs in search of another hiding place.

He just barely made it down the stairs when he saw Asuka coming towards him, Judai paused and quickly moved to the side to allow her to pass. But she merely stopped in front of him.

"Judai."

"Asuka." He greeted. He had seen her gait, it was purposeful, she had come here looking for him. But for some reason, when he raised his eyes to meet hers, she flinched. It wasn't obvious but Judai knew she was scared.

So Judai did the best thing he could, he averted his eyes and allowed silence to reign over. If Asuka really wished to speak, he would let her.

"Judai." She repeated, "Where have you been?"

Judai's head snapped up, was this it? Was she finally going to demand what had happened?

"You've been missing class a lot. Dr. Chronos sent us to find you."

And for that single moment, Judai saw red. The fury that she would continue as if nothing had happened, as if he hadn't betrayed them, as if he hadn't gotten them killed. He was a murderer and they should know that, he would rather they confront him head-on instead of hiding behind false facades.

Judai, don't! He could hear Yubel cry, but he couldn't stop himself. The next thing he knew, he was staring into Asuka's wide eyes. Her breathing was erratic as her eyes flicked to the wall beside them.

White powder crumbled as Judai slowly removed his fists from the wall. Scarlet rivers ran down pale flesh, yet his brain couldn't register the pain yet, still too focused on what Asuka had said.

He allowed himself to calm down and the pain returned tenfold, in the form of his broken hand and his friends' betrayal.

Yubel was yelling at him inside their mind and Judai forced himself to block out her worries.

"Is that all." He asked, smiling at Asuka softly. Asuka was still staring at him in horror. Probably because he wasn't even flinching from the pain he thought dully.

So to infuriate her further, he lifted his hand and licked the blood right off, the tangy copper rolling off his tongue and into his throat. Asuka looked almost repulsed at his act and he was glad to finally elicit a genuine reaction from her

"Is this why all of you have been ignoring me? Because I'm the one who betrayed you all."

"No – "

"It's fine if you're angry or even scared of me." Judai gave a sad smile, "I know I am."

Asuka wanted to say something, Judai knew she did, but he didn't want to hear it anymore. Anymore words coming out of her mouth would only make him lose control even more, and he could already hear Yubel hissing threats to the blonde.

He stepped back and allowed her some room, "It's just that I wish you guys would be more honest with your feelings and just straight out tell me."

Asuka was left stunned as Judai turned his back towards from her and walked away. The scene almost echoing the one where Judai once stood alone by himself, letting himself being consumed by his darkness for the sake of saving the five ignorant children who had no idea who he was doing it for.

"But this isn't what we wanted." She murmured, eyes filled with unshed tears, "We just didn't have the courage to face you. To tell you that we were the ones who were wrong."

She rubbed her eyes fiercely in an attempt to rid her eyes of any wetness. Asuka then pulled out her PDA and proceeded to call a number.

"Hey, it's me. I just wanted to say– "

Judai was angry at himself for what had just happened with Asuka. He had meant to warn her off, not scare her even more.

Yubel appeared, staring emotionlessly at the shaking figure of her beloved, "Judai." She started.

"Don't start on me too Yubel." Judai snapped, temper rising.

"You know I only wish the best for you. I understand that you may feel better when your friends ignore you, but don't you think this has gone on too much? You haven't spoken to any of your friends, not only those five. Not even Jesse. And you know that I was the one at wrong that time, I was the one who forced him to act so."

"And I'm not going to do so until they start acknowledging that I am the monster they fear!"

Heterochromatic eyes gazed into sharp brown ones, "Why do you want them to acknowledge you as such?" She finally asked when she sought no answers from those sorrowful pools. "No one wants to be labeled as a much monster, not to mention being acknowledged as one."

"Because then I'd know they would accept me for who I am. Every part of me, not just the goodness, but the evil and selfish lurking deep within."

Wow, revising my old writing sure is a pain. I had no idea it was so bad before.
