You can't always get what you want, especially when what you want comes from the devil's sister. But when you are forced to go on a date with a relative (of a) demon to get that thing back, you're going to want to push down every longing feeling, and wrench those butterflies out of your stomach. But, make sure to keep your attitude anything but cold, because the demon will murder you if you make her sister cry. Especially when your name is Laxus Dreyar, and you have the hots for Lisanna Strauss. LaLi. Requested by contest winner, HailsStorm.

Jui:*sighs depressed*

Lisanna: What's wrong, Jui-Chan?

Jui: I was going to keep my "writer's block" going for a while longer... *falls down dramatically, but still lazily*

Lisanna: *sweatdrops*

Happy: *appears from nowhere* Jui-chan does not own Fairy Tail!

Jui: *startled and throws shoe* AH!

Happy: *depressed and in pain from shoe hitting his head* Jui-chan is a meany...

Jui: *starts typing story*

Laxus: Finally!

HailsStorm: Wh-What am I doing here?! *looks around fearfully*

Lisanna: *sweatdrops again*

Laxus PoV

At Laxus' Home

I searched and searched, but I couldn't find my headphones anywhere. They weren't on my head, because: 1. I'm not like Natsu, 2. I'm not an idiot, (which is basically saying the exact same thing as number one.) and

3. The only reason that I knew they were gone, was because I woke up and couldn't hear any music.

I recalled having taken them off sometime last night, since I wanted to hear what Mirajane was saying about me to Lisanna. The two takeover mages had made many glances at me, and it pissed me off to know end when Mira's matchmaking gaze had landed on me.

Deciding that it would be a fruitless effort searching through my house, I headed off towards the guild, hoping that I would have more luck with finding them there.

At Fairy Tail

I asked Freed to ask around, pride holding me back from asking myself. Evergreen and Bickslow had gone somewhere, but they are fully capable of handling themselves, so I didn't show any concern for it.

When Freed had finally returned, he had stated that Lisanna has knowledge of their whereabouts. Nodding in approval, I stalked off towards the animal transformation wizard, taking in her appearance. She wore a yellow shirt and blue shorts, with red suspenders holding them up.

"Oi, Lisanna. Freed said that you knew where my headphones are, so could'ya tell me where they are? I don't want to have to hear about what kind of fantasies Jet and Droy had about Levy, just because I have a lacrima that also gives me heightened hearing." I said. I heard things that no one should ever hear from their family. Ever.

She gave me an amused glance. "Why should I? Don't you want to get to know your family?" she quarried teasingly. I growled in annoyance.

"Can you just give me the location of my damn headphones?"

She stuck out her tongue at me. "Nope! I won't do anything without getting something in return." I groaned inwardly out of frustration. Why can't I get something easily, for once?

"What do you want?"

She grinned evilly for a moment. It was just a millisecond, so I almost thought that it was never there.

"How about you buy me dinner at..." she pondered for a moment, probably wanting to force me to buy her something expensive. I'm an S-Class mage, so it doesn't really do my wallet any harm, but I thought that I'd humor her (so that she doesn't change her mind and make it worse). Besides, it wouldn't hurt to go out (for dinner) with the white-haired girl. I was broken out of my daze by a hand waving in front of my face.

"Laxus, are you okay? You weren't responding when I was talking." She looked quite cute with those large, Happy-colored eyes of hers filled with concern. (A/N: XD Sorry, had to put that in.)

"Y-Yeah. So, what were you saying?" I shoved that last thought to the back of my head.

"Oh. I just told you that you have to buy me dinner at 8 Island."

I was slightly perturbed by the fact that she didn't make me buy her food from some fancy, expensive restaurant. I shrugged it off.

"Then I'll pick you up at 6. See ya then." I walked back over to my usual location during the day, which was at the railing of the second floor. I had nothing to distract me, so I kept my gaze on the girl who piqued my interest.

Strauss Household

I tapped my foot in annoyance, waiting on the silver-headed female to exit the doors. Right as I was going to knock, she opened the door and stepped out, dressed casually, but still fitting for a date. I shook my head, screaming that it wasn't a date (inwardly, of course).

She wore a baby pink blouse and a long, light blue ankle-length skirt, with blue sandals and a small yellow purse hanging at her hip. I wore my usual clothes, though I wore them a bit neater that normal.

I held out my hand, allowing her to place her own on mine. I led her through the town, face tinted a light shade of pink. My heart had probably skipped a few beats, and that helped the butterflies enter my stomach. It was a tingly feeling, slightly warm, but it wasn't a bad one.

We (mostly Lisanna) chatted about random topics, like how Freed seems to have a thing for Mira, or how Evergreen is obviously in love with Elfman, and even how the amount of food Natsu and Gajeel eat on a weekly basis is equal to how much the rest of the guild eats in month.

We continued conversing as we waited for the waiter, as the menus were already given to us. After we had ordered, the food appeared in front of us almost immediately.

Throughout the meal, we sat in a comfortable silence. I noticed that there was a small bit of rice on the corner of her mouth, so I grabbed a napkin and reached over the table to wipe it off. She had a small tinge of a rosy red on her cheeks after she thanked me.

When dinner was finished, I paid for the meal and we strolled around town, Lisanna trying to make me laugh with unfunny puns. Her frustration caused her to pout, which made me chuckle a bit. The sun had just set, so there was still a flurry of light colors in the sky, and that was a breath-taking sight for Lisanna, while Lisanna's amazed look made my breath hitch.

We arrived at her home shortly after, which was a relief and a disappointment at the same time.

"Here are your headphones." she said, handing them to me, once she had taken them out of her purse. "It was fun, so, thanks." She got up on her tip-toes and gave me a quick peck on the cheek.

"It was nothing, shorty."

She forcibly placed my headphones on my head, keeping me from hearing anything from the outside. She smiled and said something, but, luckily, I was able to decipher which words were spoken, and my eyes had gone wide. I relaxed, not willing for her to be aware of my knowledge of what she had said.

I pat her on the head and turned around, walking off. I raised my hand in a small wave over the back of my shoulder.

"Oh, and, by the way," I called, turning my head towards her, "I love you, too, Lisanna."

'Maybe I should lose something at the guild again.'

This is the first of the three one-shots that I have to write for HailsStorm, who won my contest. Her win was boosted by the fact that she was the only one who entered.
