I'd tripped on the stupid shopping bag and fallen into Ikuto's arms. His arms! As if I didn't get enough of that already! And then Tadase had chosen that perfectly awkward moment to show up again. Ikuto made me so mad!
"What…you still like vanilla?" Ikuto asked Tadase slyly. "Your sense of taste is as childish as ever."
He licked Tadase's ice cream, which I still held unwillingly. The other side was starting to melt, though.
"It's dripping!" I said, annoyed.
"Amu, you take that side." He directed.
"What?" why was he asking me to do this? The ice cream started dripping, and I caught with my tongue reflexively.
"Nice catch." Ikuto snickered. Our lips were inches apart, separated by only the ice cream cone. "An indirect kiss" as Su would call it.
He held me close to the ice cream cone, practically forcing me to keep my position as close to him as it was. I was really getting mad. My hand squeezed tightly, and only then did I realize I still had my ice cream cone. Ikuto was eating Tadase's.
Ikuto smirked at Tadase. He said something about having Tadase's ice cream and me, but I wasn't really listening. The anger inside me was building up. Why did he always have to tease me so much? Maybe he should get a taste of his own medicine. I smirked inwardly.
I brought my arm up, and simply dropped the melting ice cream onto Ikuto, at the same time leaping from his lap. The results were amusing.
Ikuto yowled, almost like a real cat. He jumped up, glaring at me furiously. I smiled innocently. "You told me your favorite ice cream was chocolate." He just stood there glaring. I turned to Tadase. "Come on, Tadase-kun. Let's go home."
We turned around to walk back, when Ikuto called my name. "Amu." I turned around slowly. "Yes?" he looked at me coolly. "You're not going to get away with that." Then he leaped into the trees and disappeared.
"I'm not really worried." I said to Tadase later as we walked home. "You don't need to set up a patrol, Tadase-kun, seriously. Relax."
He sighed. "Alright then, Hinamori-san." We reached my house and I squeezed his hand before running inside.
