This is my first ever Twilight story! I am co-writing it with a friend/sister/cousin, Lastande_Sarie. We tried to model this story after the books. This story occurs seven years after the end of Breaking Dawn, and will switch between Jacob's and Nessie's POV's, perhaps with someone else's POV if need be. So enjoy reading and let us know what you think!

I always gave some credit to fairy tales, no matter how crazy they seemed. I guess it's because of the way I was brought up, but even when I was small I remember thinking that there had to be some amount of truth to them. After all, even a lie always starts from a grain of truth. Despite all the fairy tales I've heard and read in my life, and all the happy endings that came from impossible situations, I don't think I ever heard of one to prepare me for this. If there is a story about someone falling in love with a person who is completely opposite, and yet they find their happily ever after, I wish someone would let me know. Because, right now, it seems pretty impossible.

Impossible? Even though my parents had fallen in love when my mother was a human and my father was a vampire? Yes. They are - or were - more similar than I am with...him. I'm a vampire/human half-breed, and he is...opposite. My enemy. And yet, even with that, I had fallen in love with him. I thought he had fallen in love with me, too. I was mistaken. So perhaps happy endings don't happen with everyone. After all, in most stories there are two men vying for a woman's affection, or vice versa. Only one man gets the woman, and vice versa. The one who is left alone - is that a happy ending? I think not.

I just wish I'd thought of that before I was left alone with my own unhappy ending.
