The alarm went off and the sun daggered into Fionna's blue eyes. She didn't really want to get out of bed but she had so many things to tend to.

"Come on, gurl!" Cake shouted while stretching across the room and bouncing off the walls all at once.

"It's just so early!" Fionna sunk inside her blankets and shut her eyes. "I just want to sleep forever,"

"Don't try to pull this gunk today. It's your friend's birthday and you promised him you'd show up."

Fionna rolled out of bed and tumbled in the floor. It was Marshal Lee's 1120th birthday. He hasn't had a birthday since he turned 1000 but oddly enough, his family his throwing him a huge party this year. Prince B. Gumball was invited but who knows if he'll show. He's had an odd grudge held against Marshal for a long while now. Even before their dispute, they didn't get a long too well.

Cake and Fionna brushed their teeth and choked down their breakfast. Pancakes, as usual. After eating, Fionna threw on her regular adventurer attire and flew out the door, quick as ever. Cake stretched out in front of her and Fionna jumped on her furry back.

"So, whats our plan to help get this party together and crackalakin?!" Fionna enthusiastically shouted.

"First, we have to pick of the Red Velvet cake,"

"Cake picking up cake. Oh yeaah!"

"Then, we've got to travel to the Ice Kingdom to pick up his present." Cake explained. "After that, we're off to dance our crazy pants off."

Fionna held her sword high into sky then grabbed onto cakes fur. "Then lets get the show on the rode!"

"To the candy kingdom!" Cake shouted.

"To the candy kingdom," Fionna whispered back to herself.

When they arrived at the castle, Prince Gumball was already waiting by the stairs. "It's good to see you two again! Cake, have you done something different to your fur?" Cake blushes and shrivels onto the peanut brittle ground. "And Fionna, you look more beautiful than you've ever looked! Oh, I'm being terribly rude, come inside, please. I have enough cotton candy to last the 3 of us for days"

Fionna just looked down at her shiny black shoes and tried not to blush. His compliments always made her so uncomfortable. "Actually, we just came to pick up Marshal Lee's birthday cake,"

"I see," The prince's eyes filled with a sudden sadness for a moment. "It's at the bakery awaiting your arrival. At least let me join you for walk there,"

"Sure thing, man." Fionna said cheerfully.

They shared a few giggles and a few disputes on their quick walk but for the most part, it was pleasant. When they got to their destination, Fionna got up the nerve to ask Gumball if he is going to be attending the party.

"I wouldn't attend such an atrocious event if my kingdom depended on it!" He responded

Fionna looked at him curiously for a second. "What's the biz between you two anyways? You're constantly at each other's necks,"

Prince Gumball's eyes got big as he vigorously shook his head and backed away. His hands clapped together as thunder boomed from the sky. Lord Monochromicorn swooped from the clouds and PG jumped on his back.

"Mo-Chro!" Gumball shouts. "Dash!"

They took off and disappeared into the afternoon sky.

"Weeirdd," Fionna dragged.

Cake looked up into sky for a few minutes, stunned. "Did you see how hot Lord Monochromicorn was?"

Fionna rolled her eyes, walked inside the bakery, picked up the cake and went on her way. The two of them traveled to Marshall Lee's house, prepared for a party but instead they ran into something a lot less exciting. Something neither of them were prepared to deal with.
