A/N: I am soooo CURIOUS and I *love* to question things so I was all "Whats their history? How'd they make the band in the first place? How did Elwood meet Jake? Where'd Mr.Fabulous come from?" And so on and so forth so I made THIS to answer all those evil little questions hammering onto my mind! YAY TO HAMMERINESS!!! Uh... pending title...

THE BLUES BROTHERS SHOWBAND

His face collided with the dirt and he writhed his small 10-year-old body in a futile means of escape as the larger, older boy grabbed hold of his arm and bent it behind his back.

"Help!" the boy cried out, "Help me!"

"Shut up!" the fellow holding him down said, "Shut up!"

'You'll never get away with this Ricky,' thought the small boy as he stretched his arm forward to reach the black sunglasses mere inches away from his finger tips. One of the lens was cracked, but the glasses were a gift from God, Sister Mary Stigmata finding them in the little boy's pocket when he was first left on the doorstep of the orphanage. The boy had never gotten a gift before so that made them all so much more special.

"Oh!" said Ricky, "Is that what you want Elwood? Well let me help you!"

Ricky stepped off of Elwood, pushed him backwards and headed to the glasses.

"Ricky!" Elwood cried, "No! No don't touch them!" The dark-haired boy curled up slightly, ashamed that he didn't have the courage to fight back and save his most precious posession. But he was so small, the size of an eight year old, how could he?

Ricky smashed his foot down onto the sunglasses, crushing the lens and frame entirely.

Elwood's eyes went wide with shock and then turned to anger. The look on his face almost made Ricky wet himself. Even he would have, he didn't have time because Elwood pounced onto him.

"You broke my glasses!" Elwood cried, hitting the eleven year old for all he was worth, "You jerk! I hate you! You broke my glasses! How could you do that! You jerk!"

The fight was broken up by Elwood being ripped off of Ricky by none other than head Nun herself Mary Stigmata. Elwood's face was bleeding, he had a black-eye and his white shirt was torn in various places, hiding the fresh scratches.

"You little troublemaker!" Stigmata yelled at Elwood, "Elwood, you are in serious trouble!"

Elwood pulled away from Stigmata and snatched the broken sunglasses out of the dirt. His eyes watered up once again when he regarded them. He flashed a scowl in Ricky's direction as Stigmata grabbed him by his ear and dragged him into the building.

"Mister, GLORY are you in for it!" Stigmata screeched, "I'll put you to work with Curtis for a MONTH, that oughta straighten you out!"

Elwood shivered. He'd heard the stories from the other kids at the orphanage about Curtis. Mainly described as a 'strange colored man who lurked in the basement singing songs that nobody could resist cause they'd be put into a trance and then the kid would never be heard of again'. The only person who had ever gone down there and came out alive was a twelve year old named Jake who was big and scarey.

Elwood gulped.
