A woman, so gentle, a bit frail…
It was something she was quite jealous about, she lacked it completely.
Throughout her life, she'd thought that being resolute and unmovable would make her happy, because it would make her duty easier. Ignoring emotion would help bring balance to the world.
But there she was, a frail beauty. Avatar Yangchen.
She never realized how much she'd liked the endless conversations with the female air bender, or her company by itself, until she realized that she bore within her a deep love for what would have been her, two cycles earlier.
Was it a form of narcissism?
Perhaps, but Kyoshi couldn't care less.
All she cared about was to look into those grey eyes full of kindness again. It would give her the strength to live through yet another day in her high age.
She lay down on her bed and closed her eyes. Not much later, she fell into a deep slumber, dreaming about a gentle, frail woman with beautiful grey eyes full of kindness.
