AUTHORS NOTE - This short little ficlet was written for a meme on a Castiel community on LiveJournal, where members posted prompts and anyone could respond to them. This is my ficlet, inspired by the prompt - "Dean and Sam return to their motel room to find Castiel and the rest of his garrison of angels inside awaiting orders... all the other details are up to you, but I just think it'd be hilarious to have a bunch of angels poking around a motel."
A Host Of Angels.
Dean and Sam were surprised upon entering their motel room to find Castiel and a host of angels milling around inside, every last one of them looking grim, determined .... even angry.
"What the hell is going on?" Dean asked, not sure what to make of the sight of several warriors of God staring at his underwear and discarded clothes piled carelessly at the end of his bed.
Castiel was the first to speak, several of his beautiful brethren coming to stand at his shoulders.
"We had to stop him Dean," he said, ominously.
"Who, Cas?" Dean asked.
Sam didn't say a word, merely stared in awe at the celestial beings surroundiing them.
"Lucifer!" one of the other angels replied. "The last seal was about to be broken ..... "
"And we had to stop him ..... " continued another angel.
Castiel sighed, looked down, before turning tired and soulful eyes up to Dean.
"The next to last seal was about to be broken .... Lucifer was about to steal my last chocolate. If he had have succeeded he would be one step closer to bringing about the apocolypse!" Castiel said grimly.
Dean satred in disbelief at the beautiful angel, before Sam began to laugh.
"So Holy Hell will be unleashed on the Earth, just because he stole your last chocolate? What is the world coming to?" Sam laughed.
Cas turned large eyes onto Sam, before saying - "That's the point - the world is coming to an end. You should thank us for stopping Lucifer in his tracks ... "
"How?" Dean asked the inevitable.
Behind Castiel, one of the angels burped.
"Sealtiel ate it before Lucifer could .... " Castiel said, looking downcast. "My last chocolate ..... "
Dean could no longer restrain himself - he began to laugh, before he reached over and grasped the angel's shoulder firmly. Castiel turned soulful eyes up to Dean, watching him closely as the elder Winchester continued to laugh.
"Dude ... Cas .. I'll buy you some more chocolate, if that'll make you happy!" Dean said between laughs.
Castiel's face brightened, lips half turning up in a small smile, before he bowed his head at Dean.
"Thank you, Dean! I like Hershey's Kisses or rather, my vessel did ... " Castiel said, soulfully.
"I just bet you freaking do!" Dean commented with a laugh.
Dean left the room, leaving Sam in the care of the host of angels, while he went to buy Castiel some Hershey's Kisses ....
