Dirk chatted idly with his boyfriend Jake when a knock sounded at the door. He looked up and typed a quick response to Jake and answered the door. At the door his friend Jane stood with a plate of cookies wrapped in plastic wrap.
"Jane! C'mon in." Dirk said excitedly as he opened the door wider and let Jane in.
"I brought cookies, snickerdoodles, your favourite!" Jane said offering the cookies.
"Oh sweet!" Dirk said grabbing the cookies and unwrapping them.
"Yeah, they're Betty Crocker cookies too!" Jane said cheerfully.
Dirk froze and stared at the cookies. He took a deep breath and threw the cookies like a Frisbee at the wall. Jane stared at broken cookies in horror.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR!?" Jane screamed at the top of her lungs.
Dirk stared at Jane angrily, he took a moment to calm down and not scream at Jane.
"They were Betty Crocker cookies! You know Betty Crocker? The evil corporation that wants to control everything?" Dirk asked furiously.
"That's not true!" Jane cried, tears growing in her eyes .
"Whatever. Maybe you should leave." Dirk said coldly.
A tear trickled down Jane's face, slowly she turned and walked out the door, not even collecting her cookies and shattered plate. When Jane left and closed the door Dirk hung his head and sighed.
"Damn, I'm a jerk." He whispered.
He walked over to the crumbled cookies and picked up a third. He examined the cookie and hesitantly took a bite from it.
"That's actually pretty good." He said to himself.
Author's Note: This was based off an actual event, I brought cookies to my friend (and yes they were snickerdoodles, those are his favourite) and told him after he got all excited that they were Betty Crocker cookies and he threw them. He's actually a Dave cosplayer and I'm a Rose cosplayer, but I thought it would work better as Dirk and Jane. My previous HS fanfic, Rose Loves the Doctor, the Doctor- received good reviews, and that too was inspired by me and my friend so I thought I'd do another one inspired by us. Hope you like.
