Being born into this world, I never questioned what was right or wrong. What was the point? Yevon made it so clear for us to follow that there was no need to think. I never thought my life was unfair, I always knew that I was privileged. The girls whose father defeated Sin. The calm is one of the most welcome events in the history of Spira. It is a time of peace, relaxation, but also fear. We know that this peace will not last. We know that soon we will weep, that everyone we love will die and all we can do is pray for their souls. I was named after the first woman who defeated Sin. From a young age, I knew that it would be my destiny to face Sin, just as my father had before me. Everyone knew that a summoner must die in order to bring about peace. It was just another sad truth in a world plagued with perpetual sadness.
When I was younger I remember my mother pulling me aside, it was the day that my father defeated Sin. The whole town was celebrating and I was waiting outside to greet my father. My mother, with tears streaming down her face, held me tightly. I couldn't understand what was wrong, Sin was gone and yet my mother was crying. Then a terrible fear struck me, the reason my mother was crying and the reason my father wasn't coming home. He had given his life so that we may experience a few serene moments that were not fearful. So that we would not suffer the same fate as millions of others before us. I cried with my entire soul that day. Until there was nothing left, I felt like a hollowed out shell waiting to be blown away by the slightest breeze. It was then I knew what I must do. I would willingly choose the same fate, to bring others the peace and happiness they deserve.
