Disclaimer: I don't own Durarara.
Izaya had never paid so much attention to his birthday. Since his parents started working abroad, all of them were spent according to the same scenario: He and his sisters spending the day all together.
Izaya turned to his left, nuzzling his face into his pillow. That May 4th was a Saturday, so he practically had a free day – if we did not count that one or two hours of work he had to do for Shiki-san. Because of that thought, Izaya groaned, burying his face deeper into the pillow.
His door slammed open, which made him jump and falling out from his bed. When he looked up, he saw his hell of a secretary and best friend.
"Get up, we have work to do!" The woman said on her usual icy voice, then walked out of the room. Izaya stood up and wanted to shout a sharp comment after her when a tray caught his eyes on his nightstand. Namie peered into the room when awaited comment did not arrive. "Your breakfast. You deserve to have at least one proper one once in a year."
Izaya looked up to the woman. When they started to work together, there were mutual sharpness between them towards the other, but as years passed by, they had to realize that there were much more common things in them than they would like to admit. On that day, Izaya turned into 25 and had a best friend called Yagiri Namie.
"Namie-san…"
Namie could swear that she heard a little trembling in Izayas' voice. She stepped to him and patted his head.
"You can thank me by giving me paid vacation, so I can spend some time with my Seiji."
It was around 1 PM when Izaya decided that it was time for him to go and observe his beloved humans in the city known as Ikebukuro. The plan was finished: Him roaming through the streets, maybe paying an unannounced visit to Shinra and – most importantly – having fun with Shizu-chan. But unfortunately, his perfect plan was destroyed as soon as he opened his door.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, IZA-NII!" Mairu exclaimed, hugging him from the left.
"Happy," Kururi said too, imitating her sisters' movements from the other side.
Izaya had no idea from where they knew about his schedule, but when he saw the smirk on Namies' lips, he decided that there was no paid vacation for her.
"What are you two doing here? I am heading out to Ikebukuro, I do not have time to play with you."
"We love you too, Iza-nii," Mairu said, then stood on her tiptoe and kissed his cheek. Izaya almost snapped at her while his cheeks were burning, when he felt a thug on his t-shirt.
"Lunch, together."
The lunch was not as bad as he expected. His sisters treated him and even Simon gave him a little Japanese cake just because of his birthday. He felt a smile appearing on his face. His sisters might be annoying, but they were adorable with their deep devotion towards him as well. Izaya stretched his arms and took a deep breath, when he heard the voice of a flying object. He dodged it and turned around.
"Shizu-chan! I am so happy to see you!" That caught the monster off-guard. Usually, he was the one who roared Izayas' name, but the louse was faster that time. So annoying! "I bet you think that I am annoying right now." The expression on Shizuo's face made Izaya laugh out loud. "You are an open book to me, my dear, beloved Shizu-chan!" Izaya said, throwing a kiss towards the ex-bartender.
And the chase started…
