Warning: This story gots it some incest. Because the authoress couldn't fight this silly plot bunny, and the authoress finds some good fictional incest pretty sexy. Please note the relation isn't that close… but incest nonetheless. -luffs- Also... this is an AU. (Obviously.) I know, I know, I usually hate them to, but give this a chance:3

Blasphemy

A Twisted Vine

i. prologue

A short yank on his sleeve. The wind picked up. He tried to ignore it, that insistent tugging that demanded his attention. Slowly, he bowed his head to look at her. Small fingers wound in the cloth of his coat, eyes determined and jaw set. Yellow petals hung limp and pathetic in her fist.

The diluted scent curled in his senses, and dark lashes lowered in silent disgust. She made a mockery of his blood. The only child of his half-brother, her youkai heritage was so broken and dulled she bore no markings to show for it. To think this is what his terrible father's legacy had come to.

"Sesshoumaru-sama," the voice wavered, "Rin got a flower for you."

Ignorant, he decided, and lifted his head to the wind.

An empty park somewhere in Nagasaki, dark clouds rolling in from the west and cold air biting at their skin. This is where he had taken her to watch. He needed to see just how human she was, or more to the point, did she hold any youkai abilities at all? It was a sad existence, slowly purified within the womb of a miko mother. Did she know what had been done?

The child's hand fell away from him.

The demon looked from her, turning his attention to an approaching white-haired figure. "Inuyasha," he addressed him in a cool tone. The girl beside him stilled. He heard the soft whisper fall from her lips, even as she caught and muffled it with her hands. Father…

"What the hell do you want with her?" Inuyasha bit out. No tact at all… Sesshoumaru watched his half-brother's eyes darken with fury.

"Years since we last met, little brother," he began slowly, "And I can see you've not changed at all."

The hanyou's lip curled in a silent snarl. "Rin, come on."

The girl froze. She stared up at her half-uncle almost expectantly. And then hesitantly, Rin stepped away from him. Inuyasha growled, taking her by the arm and guiding her away. As she walked, the child turned her head back to watch the youkai, still and quiet in the wind.

"Good bye, Sesshoumaru-sama," she called softly. "Good bye."
