"Damn it I said NO James!" Lily turned away from him, crossing her arms over her chest and turning to face the wall of the (empty) Gryffindor common room.

"Come on Evans! One Date?" James sighed following her.

"I've rejected you for 7 years James, how long does it take for you to get the bloody hint?!" Lily yelled, turning around to face him.

James smiled. "I dunno, Evans. You might have to tell me a few more times."

"You seriously don't get it do you Potter?" She said, glaring at him.

"It doesn't matter how many times you ask me," Her face flushed with anger, as she leaned closer. "the answer will ALWAYS be-"

James closed the space between their mouths, pressing his lips gently onto Lily's. He cupped the back of her head in one hand and felt her stiffen a bit. He wrapped his other arm around her waist gently, pulling her body to his.

Lily's mind sped into overdrive, screaming at her body to do something. She hesitantly reached an arm up to cup James' cheek in her hand. She kissed back shyly, while threading her other hand into his messy hair.

Lily's legs wobbled a bit and her heart drummed loudly in her chest. Her mind wouldn't, no—couldn't process what was going on. 'I'm not supposed to feel this way. He's not supposed to make me feel this way!'

James smiled, pulling back slowly and drawing a hand to hold Lily's own to his face.

A light blush tainted Lily's cheeks, her eyes wide with shock, and her lips were parted slightly.

Lily looked at the ground, avoiding his eyes and gently pulling her hand away. "Shit…did we just…?"

James nodded slowly at her, his eyes danced with amusement. "And I'm pretty sure you enjoyed it just as much as I did, love."

"But- But I'm supposed to hate you! I'm supposed to want to call you an arrogant bastard and tell you to go to hell!" She yelled, still staring at the floor.

"But…?" He questioned her, his eyes still on her face.

"I'm not supposed to think about how perfectly your body would fit against mine. I'm not supposed to wish that you'd kiss me so passionately I couldn't remember my own name. I'm not supposed to fall for you! She murmured, and her face flushed crimson red.

"Lily…" He breathed out, taking her chin in his hand and tilting it up towards him so his eyes met hers.

"And I'm not supposed to wish that you'd kiss me again," She whispered, looking up at him. "But I do."

Lily didn't wait for a response. She stood on her tippy-toes and pressed her lips to his.

James didn't waste any time, he pulled Lily's body against his and kissed her back. She smiled into the kiss and hooked her thumbs on the belt loops of his jeans.

He pulled away, gasping for breath, and pressed his forehead against hers, pushing her against the wall.

She brought his hand to her side and threaded her fingers with his, and he gave her hand a squeeze.

She smiled at him as he began to trace circles on her hand with his fingers.

He leaned closer to Lily so his mouth was brushing against her ear.

"So Evans, does this mean you'll go out with me?" He whispered, kissing her ear lightly.

"Hmmm…I dunno Potter, I'll have to think about it." She replied, smirking.

"Are you serious?!"

AN: I'm actually really happy with out it turned out, too.
Because I can totally see it happening--especially the last 2 lines.

Poor James. He'll never get a date with Lily. XDD
