"Wait until I tell Elizabeth that you nearly fainted!"
"I DID NOT!" Captain Jack Sparrow reared back, and looked at Will Turner, almost falling over backwards, and slurring his words badly, "Ye gotta remember, lad, tha' I been sick! Th' mizzen mast about took me head off, 'member? I got th' stitches t' prove it!"
"That does not change the fact that I am nearly having to pick you up, and carry your scrawny arse back to the longboat! I thought that your being drunk would help at this appointment!" Will was laughing, as his companion was having a terrible time putting one foot in front of the other, in spite of Will holding one of Jack's arms over his shoulder, and hanging on to him firmly around his slender waist. He finally took a grip on the back of one of Jack's belts in order to keep them both from falling down.
"Aye, William, but ye've had yer own share o' rum, too, I migh' remind ye!" Will knew that this was the truth, as his own vision was a little fuzzy, and he felt rather warm. But he was able to walk in a reasonably straight fashion... somewhat.
Jack stopped, quite suddenly, reared back and looked Will straight in the eye, hiccuped, and said, fearfully, "Ye ain't gonna tell Izzy abou' this, are ye, lad? Ye promised..." Jack leaned forward and almost knocked Will over, as he lost his balance again.
"No, Jack... oops, that's right, one foot in front of the other... now, into the longboat... OOPS!" The boat wobbled in the water, and they both lost their balance and went face first, rather hard, into it. The boat rocked wildly, then...
There was silence for a moment...
"William...?" came a hoarse voice.
Will, dazed, assumed the voice coming from the other side of wooden bench and the tangled oars. He assumed that it belonged to the two booted legs and the rear end that were sticking up rather clumsily in the air.
"...Yes, Jack..."
One ringed, graceful hand waved up from the bottom of the boat. The voice slurred, woefully, "Ye ain't gonna tell yer bonnie lass tha' Captain Jack (hiccup) Sparrow almost bloody fainted, whilst we was both gettin' tattoos... are ye... lad?" He sounded like he was going to cry.
Will sighed, "... of course not."
The hand waved around once more. "Good," the voiced sighed in relief, "I'll tell her tha' YOU almost fainted, instead...ow...bugger." Hiccup.
