This story is based off the song Christmas shoes by Bob Carlisle. I do not own the song nor the characters used in this story.

It's December 24th and I'm waiting in line to buy last minute gifts for my family. I wish this line would hurry so I can get home and get this shopping over with. In front of me was a little boy with tattered old clothes waiting anxiously, jumping a little while holding a pair of shoes. Those were the shoes I was gonna get Sakura! I made an irritated face, and watched the boy walk up the counter, and I cannot believe what that young man said.

The little boy limped over to the counter, leaving dirt trails behind him and put the shoes onto the counter. He smiled a toothy smile and said, "Sir, I wanna buy these shoes for my momma please. You see, it's Christmas Eve and I am so happy that I finally found her size!" I stood there in shock, what a Christ-like boy. Nothing could have prepared me for what the child said next. I saw the cashier make a look of disgust as he looked at his now dirty floor, "I'll see what we can do…" The cashier slowly got the present, while trying his best not to touch the boy. The child was unaffected, and put his hands in his pockets and smiled.

The boy started jumping again, "Can you hurry sir? My daddy says there isn't much time. Momma has been sick for a long time, she hasn't smiled much lately, so I thought these shoes would make her smile a lot!" he smiled and then looked down saying, "I want her to look beautiful, if she sees Jesus, tonight."

I looked at the boy in awe. I watched him pull out three pennies, a nickel, and a sucker, and put them on the counter. I looked at the cashier, worried that he wouldn't let him buy the shoes. The cashier looked at the boy and said "I'm sorry son, eight cents, and a….sucker isn't gonna work…"

I couldn't not believe that the cashier did that. Have a heart man! It's Christmas! I saw the boy's shoulders start to shake and I heard him whimper. Then he turned to me and said, "Momma always made Christmas good at the house, and I never once paid her back! What am I gonna do sir? I just gotta get these Christmas shoes for my momma!"

Before I knew it I was laying the remaining amount onto the counter for the little boy. The look on that boys face was unforgettable when he said, "Momma is gonna look so great!" I knew I caught a glimpse of heavens love as he thanked me and ran out. I know that God had sent that little boy to remind me, what Christmas is all about. I looked out and saw where the boy went, I could still hear his feet hitting the ground; it was the small how down the road. I know what I have to do.

I called my wife to tell her what I was doing.

"Hello?"

"Hey honey"

"Gaara? Where are you? It's Christmas Eve"

"I know I'm sorry, there are a few more things I got to get, and I will be home in about an hour."

"Ok honey, please be careful! I love u!"

"I love you too"

Gaara went by the butcher and baker shop and bought a cooked turkey and buttered bread and put it in a basket. He drove by the young boy's home and went to the front door, ranged the door bell, and left. He arrived at his home and saw his wife and kids sitting at the table waiting for him to have dinner. He wished his whole family a wonderful Christmas and told them how much he loved them. That was the best Christmas he has ever had.

A ten year old boy heard the doorbell ring and ran to the door to answer it. "Hello?" he said as he opened the door. He looked down to see a beautiful cooked turkey and bread, with a note that says:

"Hope you have a very blessed Christmas, God bless. If your family needs anything please call."

The boy smiled and ran to his parents to tell them the news.
