Author's Notes: A friend of mine and I were discussing recently how the TARDIS' name doesn't actually make any sense whatsoever. So, I figured out a way that it could at least make more sense.

"Doctor?" Martha said.

The Doctor made some incoherent noise from around the console.

"I was thinking…"

"Here's trouble."

"Funny. I was thinking. Why is it called the TARDIS?"

"I told you. Time, And Relative Dimension In Space. It's a what-do-you-call-em?—acronym."

"Yes, but…Time And Relative Dimension In Space. That doesn't actually make any sense. I thought it did at first, but…the more I said it, the less sense it made. Like that 'Jabberwocky' poem."

"It makes more sense in Gallifreyan."

"Oh."

"Hey! Do you want to meet him?"

"Meet who?

"Lewis Carroll!" He grinned broadly and began setting the coordinates.
