Prologue
It was a cold October night. The moon was full, and shining brightly along the rows and rows of beautiful pine trees. I could sense the peace and joy the sun brings to this grove. The magic that surrounded me brought me back to the days of my perfect childhood.
*Flashback*
I was standing outside my grandparents little cottage, letting the wind blow through my pin straight, shiny, red hair, when the wind changed, and my hair started violently whipping across my face. I opened my eyes to see a black fox standing at my feet whimpering, like it wanted something. Not a second later then I thought it; the fox nodded its head and beckoned me to follow. It lead me to a grove.
The grove was beautiful. The pine trees seemed to stand taller here, more proud, then the others. There was a river here too. The water seemed to be crystal clear. The sun was shining between the trees, giving the place a sense of mystery. This place was almost magical. It felt like at any moment the good Lord himself would walk out and give me a hug. And to my surprise, he didn't, but someone else did.
A young boy had to be the same age as me. He had ash blond hair and stormy grey eyes. Very cute. The boy slowly walked towards me and began to speak.
"Hello, my name is…"
*End of Flashback*
And that's where the memory ends. I have tried many times over to remember that boy's name, but every time I come close I get a searing pain in my head and usually faint. Like some black fog is clouding my head and making it impossible for me to remember. I hate it. Not knowing who he is, but I have dealt with it.
The fox that lead me there that day, well she's my best friend. My only friend now. Her name is Mika. We can talk to each other through our thoughts. Like we are on the same brainwave. I love her to death. Who knew that an unusual, beautiful, black fox would be my best friend? Certainly not me. But others aren't so keen on the idea. Like my mother, she thought I was crazy when I told her I could talk to Mika, and my dad, well he left us.
