Beloved Loss, War Won
Disclaimer: I do not own Fringe, if I did Olivia would be with Peter.
Spoilers: Over There II, Olivia, The Box
Olivia Dunham-Bishop looked at her daughter as she played with her husband. It was when a question was asked that she didn't understand.
"Daddy, why does Mommy look like glitter?"
Peter eyed the girl before him, "what do you mean Mommy looks like glitter?"
"She's all shiny, like you...why is she shiny? Was she born like that too?"
His eyes coasted to her and he stood, pulling his daughter behind him. "You're...you're not from this world?"
"You were never supposed to find out."
"Where is she, where is my Olivia?"
She shook her head, "she's dead...Peter, we're happy...we have Lucy, I love you. I stayed because I love you."
"You may love me but you're not the Olivia I love." He pulled Lucy into his arms, "you're not getting Lucy either."
It only took an hour but she was taken away to a holding facility. Peter held his daughter in his arms, aware of everything he had lost...aware of the betrayal in his arms.
"Where are they taking Mommy?" Lucy looked at her father and Peter looked at her.
He couldn't figure out how to say it but finally he found the words. "That's not Mommy, she looks like Mommy but she's not. Mommy died a long time ago, before you were born."
He'd lost his only love and his daughter, the fact of his ignorance was all he had left to live for in the world. Peter knew that Walternate had really won, even if they all were still alive.
A/N: Years Later Peter finds out, poor Peter.
