Hiya! I was listening to this CD the other day and got a few songficcy ideas, and this is one of them.
You DO all know this has spoilers, right? About Ivan. You'd better get out now if you don't want to hear it.
So... this is NOT meant to be romancy. They're SIBLINGS, for goodness' sake! I'm not THAT weird. -

NOTE: (6/20/05) due to the new, ridiculous anti-songfic rule, this fic is now majorly screwed up. I refuse to take down my songfics, so instead I have removed the lyrics and indicated where they used to be. The original lyrics were Taking Over Me by Evanescence.
Hama lay awake. She would never sleep this way. Even meditation had done nothing to clear her mind. Tonight, like nights past, she would be up for hours.
Oh Ivan, where are you?
Determinately, she lay back down and closed her eyes. She would sleep. She pushed Ivan from her mind.
There he was. Walking with his friends. In her head, Hama smiled. At least he looked happy.
Then she saw the monsters. They descended from the sky, charged from the underbrush to surround the group. Couldn't they see? She tried to cry out as one of them struck, sword gleaming menacingly in the sunlight. Ivan...!
She sat up, gasping, then mentally cursed her stubborn mind. If she didn't think about him, naturally she had to dream about him. She gazed around the room before shutting her eyes with a sigh. Why weren't they here? They should be very close to Lama Temple by now. Had they met trouble at Silk Road?
Shaking her head, she let out another sigh. She knew Ivan would be all right. He was strong, and his friends were too. They would make it safely.
She remembered back to the days before Ivan had left them, when Mother and Father had still been alive. They had lived a peaceful life in Contigo, but it was not meant to be...
Even as a baby, Ivan had been aware and intelligent. The day he left, he seemed almost solemn. Hama had been distressed then, upset and tearful. As she held him for the last time, he had sought to comfort her - almost as if he knew.
Hama got up and paced the room, obsessed. Could she think of nothing else? Her heart ached. She missed him...
She came to her nightstand, where a small mirror sat. Peering restlessly into it, she saw Ivan's features staring back at her. They looked so much alike... would he know when he saw her? Part of her hoped he would... she didn't know if she would be able to see him and not tell...
She remembered her dream as she scrutinized her reflection. He had seemed so much like she had been when she was that age. She recognized herself in every aspect of him.
She closed her eyes and let a tear run down her cheek. Ivan... he was her brother. When would they be family again?
Yay.
Oh, forgot to mention, I don't own the song, either. It's "Taking Over Me" by Evanescence. By Evanescence. Not by Jupiter Girl.
