Dawn
"I'm sorry Dawn, but I have a girlfriend." Sympathy shone from his emerald green eyes. He was perfect. He was an all star basketball player and a swimmer extraordinaire. He was friends with everyone, stuck up for bullied kids, and had this easy going personality you just had to be around. She could feel tears gathering at the corner of her brown eyes and just needed to get away. "It's fine. Whatever." She gave him a watery smile, hoping he didn't see how much his words hurt. All he gave her in return though was a concerned and troubled look."I'm really sorry." he said again.
Annabeth
"Thanks Ms. Alexander." She said as she walked out of the Principal's office.
"Remember, you can come in any time Annabeth." The red headed principal shouted as Annabeth started walking down the hallway. She smiled holding her bag straps tight. She couldn't wait to see Percy. She made sure that most of her classes was with him and made sure her locker was right next to his. Obsessive? Yes, but she didn't care. She has been working for hours straight on Olympus (Parts of Olympus got destroyed in the Giant/Gaea War), working on helping the Roman vs Greek feud (people are so stubborn), and she has been battling nightmares every night. It would be an understatement if anyone said that Annabeth needed rest, she needed more along the lines of a century of sleep.
She looked around for her locker, locker 227. She wriggled through the throngs of high schoolers. She's looked everywhere for her locker! There was only a small patch of lockers were she hasn't looked. It was crowded with what looked like the popular group. She groaned. She pushed back her golden curls over her shoulder and got ready to push and shove when she heard a laugh. Okay, this might not sound big to you, since it is a school with tons of laughing people, but it was his laugh. Percy Jackson! God she missed him. It has only been a couple days too, but without him she couldn't seem to get any sleep at all. She pushed her way to the center of the crowd and there he was in all his glory. He was wearing his favorite swimming sweatshirt over dark blue jeans and white sneakers. His hair hung messily to the side and his green eyes looked the same as it had couple days ago. After looking at him for a couple seconds, okay, a couple minutes she saw that he was stationed in the center of what she thought was previously the 'popular group.' And she just had to make a comment about her new knowledge that he had friends and maybe, just maybe was in the popular group. Though she really doubted it. As much as she loved him, she knew that he was always the odd one out in normal schools.
" Hey, Seaweed brain. I didn't know you had friends out of camp?" she said surprising herself with her own voice.
His head sprung up and his jaw slackened. "Wise girl?" The next thing she new he was hugging her like they haven't seen each other in years. "Miss me?" she said laughingly. He just smiled at her and gave her a light kiss on the lips. Her face heated up as she realized the room had gotten silent Watching the exchange. Percy seemed to realize it too and his face became bright red as well. He sat down awkwardly on the ground pulling her down with him like a rag doll. As she sat on his lap it suddenly got more awkward.
One of the boys sitting around Percy was the first to break the silence and get everyone back to their normal routine with a comment that left her firetruck red. "Percy described you as a goddess but no one thought it was possible to find a girl so gorgeous, but now I think he was just understating your beauty."
She narrowed her eyes at Percy's blushing face. "What has this goof been telling you?" She said at her smiling boyfriend. "Nothing, nothing at all." He said with mock seriousness. She smacked him on the back of his head. "He is such a idiot sometimes.'' The boys laughed.
"I like her." the boy who broke the silence said.
"But seriously,I thought you didn't have friends in school Seaweed brain?" Annabeth said. Percy rubbed the back of his head looking sheepish and shrugged. "Why wouldn't he have friends?" A brown headed kid said. She shrugged.
"In other school he was alway the one in the corner standing up to bullies and being shunned for it. Not to-mention he is dyslexic and ADHD." The group looked at Percy. "He is actually now the most popular person in the school." A brown headed boy said. Annabeth looked at Percy weirdly and shrugged. "I can picture it. He's a natural leader." Percy's face was cherry red by now.
"Anyways, what time is it? I don't want to be late for class." All eyes turned to Percy and Annabeth put her hand to his head. "Are you feeling okay?" She said with her eyebrows scrunched together. He smiled and got up. "Topic officially changed from me being popular to how I was feeling. I'm a genius." Annabeth just laughed like it was the funniest thing in the world. "Sure, seaweed brain. Whatever lets you sleep at night." He smiled goofily at her. "Eew... you guys are on of those lovey dovey couples." A blonde headed boy said. Percy punched him in the arm. The blonde moaned an ouch. "My name is Brandon by the way, that's Jake." The boy said suddenly stopping his complaints about Percy and his painful punch. She looked at the boy he was pointing at. He had brown hair and Bright blue eyes. If she remembered correctly, and off course she did, she knew it was the guy who saved her from awkwardness before when she first saw Percy. "And thats Aria, my girlfriend." Brandon finished looking at a girl with long black hair hair and deep brown eyes lovingly.
The bell rang and the gang slowly left going off to each of their subjects. Only she and Percy were left now and she smiled.
"What do you have first?" She heard her boyfriend say. The blonde's smile got even wider as she remembered that they had all their classes together. "English." She replied pulling out her schedule. He smiled goofily. "That's what I have. Lets go." Her green eyed boyfriend said already pulling her along.
