Fanfiction, don't get mad. There's a mini-story at the bottom. I PROMISE. Okay, this is a rant about the very common "OC's needed" type of story which isn't a fanfic but I guess I can't complain because this isn't one either, and it REALLY grinds my gears.
***DISCLAIMER*** This is not against those who publish OC's Neededs, as I regularly participate in them myself. Rather, it is against other participants. Sorry.
OC's Neededs are things writers use when they've run out of creativity for a whole Clan (and often more) of cats. Making 30-100 completely original cats is harder than it seems! Many people submit characters they've made up on the spot, or been tossed in he unwanted file (and deleted once used.) I'm completely fine with these people. I am included in that group.
However, another large chunk of cats are used in one OC's Needed... Then another... Then another... And having some of the same characters in multiple stories is:
A. Making the characters less original
B. Making the fanfictions less original.
C. ANNOYING! On my old account, I had an OC's Needed, and I felt very betrayed when I found that some ofthe OC's that were put in my review section were the same in other people's.
In short, when submitting characters to an OC's Needed, make sure they are ORIGINAL! THANK YOU!

Maplespot gasped. Her kits were coming! She yelled for the medicine cat. "Orangedapple!" Orangedapple came and delivered her kits. There was a brown tom and a purple she-cat. Wait, what? A purple she-cat? PURPLE? OH NO! THE PROPHECY!
"A Mary-Sue will come into the light with fur the color of a Twoleg pelt... This Mary-Sue will only bring doom..."
