The Kindergarden always gave Steven the creeps. Only Garnet seemed relaxed but that was only usual for her.
"Alright everyone be sure to look for anything suspicious!" Pearl called.
There was really no need. The cluster had been stopped, Peridot hap been *ahem* tamed and Lapis was finally free. Amethyst voiced Steven's musings aloud.
"There's nothing really to be looking for P. We should just go home."
Pearl was indignant. "Do you actually think I would drag you all here if I didn't think there was anything more than a grain of sand out of place?"
"Yeah. You're Pearl."
As they continued to bicker Steven looked around corners and under rocks. He couldn't look in the holes gems emerged from because Amethyst's was the only one he could reach at his height.
He peeked in a particularly dark corner, and that's where he saw it. The beautiful blue bubble was somehow suspended in midair like the ones in the temple but with the low ceiling, reaching it wouldn't be a problem. But what truly caught his attention was the gem trapped inside.
The gem was a lot like Sapphire's gem. It was tilted at the perfect angle and the sun caught it just right to reveal a smooth black surface and- a snowflake-shaped mark that ruined the symmetry.
It was chiseled on. Steven thought. But no... It's just as smooth as the rest of the surface...
"Pearl! Pearl I found something!" Steven ran over to the others with the bubble in tow.
"Awesome Ste-man!Whatcha got?" Amethyst slapped him on the back- and the bubble tumbled out of his arms...
Pearl pulled out her spear. Garnet summoned her gauntlets. Amethyst cracked her whip...
And the Gem emerged.
The black Gem glowed and slowly a body began to take form.
Long hair, a skirt! And then the light faded to reveal an unconscious Gem in an elegant black dress, not unlike Lapis Lazuli'sThe only difference were the semi-formal shoes.
And then she fell.
"HEY!" Steven yelled and ran to her.
