Writer's comment: I wrote this after just reading book one! FINALLY! Anyway, just light taking a shower and a few hint words and Ryuk saying a few words at the end. It's short and my first Death Note work. Bound to me more as I read more. Hope you enjoy.

Self Need

Water passed down through the thickened strands of wet hair. They started at the shower's head and ran down over the face or to the back. Poisonous thoughts consuming Light as they feel. Every drop that fell off his nose should have been another life of some criminal or mad man. If only it didn't take so long to rid the world of their evil. If only he had more time to write cursed names into the Death Note and didn't have to spend all his time covering up everything. He liked school; liked knowing he was the smartest in his class and the most renown student in his entire school. Still, if he had more time...

Eyes shut and silver lined liquid mixed with the falling water. Light hated himself for this most of all. Why was he wasting time in his shower in such a ridiculous manner when he could be done and cleaning up the world instead his own body. He had to find out who, L really was. What did he look like? What was his true name? What kind of man was trying to hunt him down and stop is righteous conquest?

"He'll die soon enough."

The shower stop producing steaming water and Light smiled through thick breaths.

"His death will be the most glorious."

The shower curtain opened and the towel was grabbed and wrapped easily around Light's slim waist. He looked up to a grinning Ryuk.

"What are you looking at?" Light spat.

"Hyuk, hyuk, Hyuk!" Light glared at this death lords laugh. "Humans are very enthusing creatures indeed."
