Prologue

Clary's P.O.V.

Jon and I are on our way home from Java Jones. When we here something say, "Nephilim."

"Jon I'm scared", I say.

"It'll be okay, Clary", he says.

The we see this huge ugly looking thing and I scream. Jon and I turn and go to run but there is another one of those ugly looking things. Then it says, " Ahh both Morgenstern children Valentine will be proud."

Who is Valentine I think? Why would he want us? That's the last thing I remember before blacking out.
