Dragonball Z

Chapter One

The Saiyan warrior, Saber awoke from his deep slumber to the sound of his ship's alarm. As he slowly sat up everything started coming back to him; he was in his spherical spaceship zipping through space and on his way to the mysterious planet Earth. The ship's computer system spoke in an automated voice to him saying, "Good morning, Saber. You are closing in on your destination; you will arrive in thirty minutes." The Saiyan warrior was fully awake upon hearing this and quickly grabbed his scouter. Putting it on, he quickly spoke through its transmitter to the other spherical spaceship following his, "Stryker, you awake?"

A few seconds went by before Saber heard a yawn through the transmitter and then an answer, "Yeah… I woke up a few seconds ago. So we're getting close?"

"Yeah, about another half hour and we'll be entering into the atmosphere." Saber responded. He checked the computer monitor and quickly said, "It seems some of Frieza's boys got a head start on us. No matter, once we get there we'll deal with them; they shouldn't be any trouble, I'm only picking up three of them."

A few weeks ago the two Saiyans learned of these artifacts on Earth known as Dragon Balls. According to legend, there were seven of these Dragon Balls on the planet. When they are all brought together the person who possesses all seven of them may summon the Eternal Dragon, a very wise and powerful creature who has the ability to grant wishes. At first the two of them disregarded the story as just "a stupid myth" but when Frieza sent some of his goons after them it changed everything. Evidently if someone like Frieza took interest in these magical objects than there must be more to this myth. Saber and the other Saiyan, Stryker knew that if he got his three wishes than its game over for their race, along with the rest of their universe. So here they were on a mission to save the Saiyan race and perhaps make a few wishes for their troubles. Stryker already knew at least one wish he was going to make upon finding the Dragon Balls, and so did Saber. However whenever Stryker would ask what Saber was going to wish for; he would briskly change the subject or just avoid it altogether. Thankfully Stryker had learned to not press matters when his mentor Saber didn't wish to speak of them and so he usually let it go.

Saber was in his early twenties while his protégé, Stryker was much younger, eleven years old to be exact. Despite his young age Stryker was still a formidable warrior and a deadly one at that thanks to Saber's relentless training and mentoring. However Saber was the more powerful of the two by far and one of the strongest warriors back on their home world. It was for this reason that the younger Saiyan was entrusted to him for training.

Eventually the two Saiyans could see the planet appear and grow closer in their ship's viewing window. A bloodthirsty smile crossed Saber's face as he looked to see a medium sized spaceship stealthily descend into the Earth's atmosphere and disappear. "It appears Frieza's pee-ons didn't get much of a head start after all!" Saber said.

"Yeah, truth be told I'm a little disappointed there's only three of them…" Stryker responded.

"This is just the first wave. Frieza is bound to send in more muscle to secure the Dragon Balls."

As the Saiyans approached the planet, Saber couldn't help but wish he was right. He hoped that Frieza would send in everything he had. Let him send in the best of the best in his ranks. That way the moment would be so much sweeter when Saber pissed him off and foiled his plans.

Meanwhile on Earth….

The flowers were looking quite lovely today in Kami's garden as Mr. Popo happily watered them and hummed to himself. Everything seemed so peaceful atop the Lookout that day and all was as it should be.

The Lookout was a floating Island that suspended through the sky complete with an ancient tower and was home to Kami the Guardian of the Earth. For centuries Kami looked over the planet and did his best to protect it from harm. As Mr. Popo continued to tend to Kami's garden the wise Namek was staring into the distance deep in thought. All of a sudden the Guardian felt several large power levels approaching the planet and with it, an intense sense of dread. Mr. Popo saw Kami drop his walking staff and stumble back. He quickly ran and helped Kami get his footing back while asking, "What is it, Kami. What's wrong?"

"There's something terribly wrong, Mr. Popo. Something evil is heading this way…."

Elsewhere on Earth…..

Queen Elsa of Arendelle awoke in her bed to the sound of an obnoxious knocking sound. "Elsa, you awake?" Sitting up the queen rubbed the sleep out of her eyes as the knocking continued, "Heello…."

"I'm awake, Anna."

As soon as she answered back, the door swung open and Princess Anna ran into the room and plopped onto the edge of her bed. Elsa was still half asleep but she managed to give a weak smile and ask, "Why are you up so early, and more importantly why are you waking me up this early?" to which the princess excitedly replied, "I just can't help it- Kristoff and I are too excited about meeting Hercule today!" Elsa playfully shook her head and answered, "He isn't even supposed to be here until this afternoon. I could still be sleeping right now…."

"Elsa! It's not every day a celebrity like Hercule shows up here in Arendelle!" Hercule was indeed a big deal; for most people anyway. He currently possessed the title of "The strongest man in the world" and was also a very adept fighter. Over the years Hercule had also built up a reputation of being a hero as well. It seemed the entire kingdom of Arendelle was ecstatic to have Hercule there visiting them. Elsa on the other hand could take it or leave it.

Anna stood up and began to leave when she said, "I know you're not into fighting and stuff, but I really do appreciate everything you've done." Elsa smiled and said, "It's nothing. Like I said; I just happened to notice that Hercule was going to be here on the same day of Kristoff's birthday." Anna giggled and said, "You have no idea how tickled Kristoff is. It's all he talks about it seems! He appreciates you for doing this too!"

Outside of Earth's atmosphere…

The two Saiyans deliberately hung back and waited for Frieza's men to make their descent onto the planet before they made their move. Saber wanted to keep the element of surprise and avoid detection, for now.

As they prepared to make their descent Saber spoke into his scouter's transmitter, "They've probably left their ship and started their search by now. We'll continue to hang back and watch them until the opportune moment comes." A few seconds later Stryker answered back, "Got it." By this point the two ships entered into the Earth's atmosphere and began making their descent. Eventually the thick clouds began to part revealing the planet's landscape. According to their scanners the region they were landing in was a very temperate zone. It had harsh winters and the landscape would become blanketed in snow. Thankfully these Earthlings were in the middle of their summer and the weather was supposed to be pleasant down there. As they got closer the Saiyans could see everything; the area had a diverse landscape. There were huge mountains standing proud with a little bit of snow covering them, while the ground below was covered with a huge evergreen forest. According to the scanners it seemed that most of the locals lived in a small city by the coast. They were still pretty high but Saber could make out a castle in the town.

"Who knows maybe when we get the Dragon Balls and make our wish; we might just rule this planet!" Stryker called over.

"Nobody in their right mind would want to live on a backwater planet like this. But then again a little elbow room from Frieza's reach sounds real nice."

The two ships were making a rapid descent as they shot across the sky. As they got closer to the ground Saber and Stryker quickly buckled their safety belts. "This is my favorite part of the ride!" Stryker excitedly yelled. Saber smiled and thought to himself; my favorite part is what comes after….In other words, as soon as the Saiyans landed the hunt was on; and nothing was going to stand in their way and live to tell about it.
