Morals
Ruby was laying in her bed and attempting to get sleep, she tossed and turned before huffing and sitting up.
"Yang?"
She whispered quietly, she listened but got no response.
"Yang? YANG?"
She said slightly louder. She sighed when she realized her sister was definitely asleep she went to turn over before she heard a quiet monotone voice.
"Cant sleep either?"
Ruby paused and squinted at the voice
"Blake? Are you awake?"
"Yes Ruby I am"
"Oh sorry if I woke you"
"Its ok you didn't"
Ruby shifted in her bed, adjusting the covers.
"I cant sleep"
"Would you like me to tell you a story perhaps?"
"Yeah that may work"
Ruby nodded and due to her enhanced faunus senses Blake was able to see the younger girls movements.
"Come here then"
Ruby climbed down from her unstable bed and padded softly over to Blake's bed. She stood awkwardly and Blake chuckled softly.
"Come on I don't bite"
Ruby smiled and sat on the bed before settling in beside Blake who had her back against the headboard of the bed. She smiled as she watched the younger girl get comfortable and she turned to her.
"Ruby im going to tell you a story, one which my mother used to tell me when I was young"
"Okay"
Ruby pulled the blanket up to her chin and looked and Blake in anticipation.
"A doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an urgent surgery. He answered the call ASAP, changed his clothes and went directly to the surgery block. He found the boy's father pacing in the hall waiting for the doctor.
On seeing him, the father yelled, "Why did you take all this time to come? Don't you know that my son's life is in danger? Don't you have any sense of responsibility?"
The doctor smiled and said, "I am sorry, I wasn't in the hospital and I came as fast as I could after receiving the call and now, I wish you'd calm down so that I can do my work".
"Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now, would you calm down? If your own son dies while waiting for doctor than what will you do?" said the father angrily. The doctor smiled again and replied, "We will do our best by God's grace and you should also pray for your son's healthy life".
"Giving advises when we're not concerned is so easy" Murmured the father.
The surgery took some hours after which the doctor went out happy, "Thank goodness! your son is saved!" And without waiting for the father's reply he carried on his way running by saying, "If you have any questions, ask the nurse".
"Why is he so arrogant? He couldn't wait some minutes so that I ask about my son's state" Commented the father when seeing the nurse minutes after the doctor left. The nurse answered, tears coming down her face, "His son died yesterday in a road accident, he was at the burial when we called him for your son's surgery. And now that he saved your son's life, he left running to finish his son's burial."
After Blake finished Ruby looked up at her
"What a sad story, but its nice that the mans son was saved, but why Blake did you tell me this story"
"Ruby you see I told you this story as in any folklore story there is a moral behind it and this particular storys moral is to never judge anyone because you never know how their life is and what they're going through"
Ruby nodded and yawned sleepily.
"Thankyou Blake for the story"
Blake smiled and looked down at the young huntress, brushing the hair from her face
"Your welcome Ruby now sleep little rose as it is late"
It was there in which Ruby drifted off to sleep, and Blake slowly wriggled in beside her, dozing off to the rhythmic breathing of the girl beside her.
Sorry that this is so short! Just a little idea that popped into my head. Like it or hate it I would love to get reviews from all of you! A blake and Yang fic should be up soon as well.
