It was finally the end to a long day. She heaved a sigh of relief as she stepped into her bathroom to take a shower, her shoulders slumping from exhaustion. So much had happened today and she was thankful for it to be over.

It all started at 8 this morning. Her best friend needed her for some emergency, startling her out of a deep, much-needed sleep. Her friend knew never to bother her on a no-practice day before noon, so it must have been very important. As it turned out, it was simply to pick out dresses and color options for her wedding. With a groan, she sat through her friend's jitters and worries, tried to seem interested in the difference between eggshell white and ivory, and even gushed over wedding dresses, before she had enough and quickly excused herself.

By lunch time, she had her own worries to think about. Her husband had come home early with a nasty cut across his forehead and a large, purple bruise on his chest. His trainer, someone who could give the old seasoned Auror a run for his money, had gotten him good with a surprise attack, he said. She just sighed as she put him on the couch and administered the potion and the salve.

Everything would have been done with if he hadn't had a reaction to the medicine, or his trainer hadn't tampered with any motions to heal his injuries medically. Her husband had to be rushed to St. Mungos and kept overnight for observation in the event the bruise should spread.

She cursed out loud, her voice echoing off the bathroom tiles, as she washed her long red hair under the shower. It was all that horrid man's fault she would have to go to bed alone tonight.

She dressed quickly and then entered her room in her nightgown. Then she sighed as she remembered the last hard part of the day. Her big brother and his wife had stopped by before the night's end to ask if she could take care of their four-year-old while they went on a 'date'. She asked why couldn't the adorable little monster go to their mother's but her brother said he didn't want to bother her after they had asked her countless times before. She couldn't deny her brother's wishes so she looked after the small girl.

That was a mistake she shouldn't have made. When her brother eventually came back for his daughter, her home had become a destruction area the size of Britain. He left with a sheepish smile and a weak excuse before she made him promise to come by the next day to fix everything.

She drew the splattered, now-purple sheets back and nestled into her cold, lonely bed, trying to ignore the smiling clouds and suns on her walls. She closed her eyes and relaxed. It was finally the end to a long day.
