Author's Note

-Now I'm trying a one-shot. Feel free to tell me what you think-

It was late August and nearly time for school to start. Austin, Ally Trish and Dez were all hanging out in Sonic Boom. Trish was reading a magazine, Ally was writing a song on the piano and Austin had just gone shopping for school supplies and was showing Dez some of the cool stuff he had gotten

"What's this?" asked Dez holding up a blue floppy stick
"It's a ruler Dez." Austin replied rolling his eyes "Duh!"
"But rulers aren't supposed to be floppy." Dez replied looking very confused
"That's what makes this ruler so cool," Austin said excitedly "It's flexible." Austin than took the ruler and moved his hand back and forth making the ruler bend and flex.
"Awesome!" Dez exclaimed looking excited.

Than Ally yelled "Hey Austin can you come help me with this song?"
"Sure Ally," He yelled and then to Dez he said "Be back in a minute."
Austin walked off to go help Ally, and Dez stared to think.
"What if I could make this into a boomerang?" he though to himself and than on impulse he folded the ruler so it looked sort of like a boomerang. Than he through it in a random direction. Unfortunately the ruler didn't fly like a boomerang. Instead it flew straight, and hit Trish in the back with a loud thump.
"Oww!" Trish exclaimed. Then angrily she added "Who did that!"
Dez shrieked and ran out of the store.
Trish yelled "Dez! I'm going to smack those freckles right off your face!" before picking up the ruler and chasing after him Dez shrieked again. "No, not my freckles!" He yelled sounding very scared

At that moment back in Sonic Boom Austin asked "What's going on with Trish and Dez?"
"Who knows, with them it could be anything," Ally replied
Austin shrugged and and they got back to work while in the background Dez screamed becasue Trish had caught up to him and had begin to hit him with the ruler.
Dez then came running back into Sonic Boom and quickly said to Austin "I accidentally hit Trish with the ruler and now she's after me, you've got to hide me, please she might kill me!"
Then Trish came running in wielding the ruler and yelling "You're not going to get away this time freckles!"
Dez screamed and ran upstairs and Trish sprinted after him

"Wasn't that your ruler?" Ally asked Austin
"I think so," Austin replied "Imagine all of the trouble I could of saved if I just hadn't bought it."
"I think they would have just found something else to fight about," Ally replied
"You're probably right," Austin said with a shrug and they got back to writing their song.

Author's Note:

-This story is actually based on something that really happened at my school. One of the guys in my class bent up a floppy ruler and threw it and it hit one of the girls so she picked it up and chased him around the classroom threatening to smack him with it. It's one of my favorite stories to tell when I'm explaining to people why there is never a dull day at my school.-
