I'm sorry if people don't like the way I put things and people together in this story but it's just the way my imagination thinks things would have worked out for Harry and Ginny's kids and their extended family.

So don't be offended if I've changed any facts that are set in stone, I just think some things are better different.

I hope you enjoy The Thing About Being Harry Potter's Kids, I know I'll enjoy writing it. I'm warning you now that there might be big gaps between updates but I'll try my best to make long chapters.

Lilly's POV

Sometimes I can't get over how big my family is. I have nine actual aunts and uncles and several that aren't. Most of them are part of the Weasley-Potter clan (as we like to call it) and the ones that aren't are honorary members.

Take Lorcan and Lysander Scamander for example. Their mum, Auntie Luna, was friends with my mum and dad and she was a part of the DA when it still existed. As a result, the Scamander twins and their parents are welcome at the Burrow for any of our family dinners. The same goes for Uncle Neville, Aunt Mary and Sophia.

To be honest, I kinda like it that way. When everyone goes round to the Burrow for one of Granma Weasley's famous family dinners, it gets a little bit crazy, trying to fit everyone into that one house, but we manage. Somehow.

Right now I'm standing on platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross station, saying goodbye to my mum before I leave for my 3rd year at Hogwarts. I can see Uncle Ron and Aunt Hermione waving to Hugo and Rose as they make their way to the train. Aunt Fleur is fussing over Louis as he is the last one of her kids still in Hogwarts and Uncle Bill is trying to make her stop.

I love my family, I really do, but sometimes they are a little crazy.

Thankfully, the press aren't allowed to be on the platform so we can say goodbye to everyone without a fuss. Except when someone from my dad's school days comes up to him and bugs him about the last wizarding war. Like right now.

"Harry Potter! I can't believe I'm seeing you again after all these years! I don't know if you'll remember me but I sat behind you in Potions, 4th year. It wasn't long after that though that you left to go off and fight You-Know-Who. I've always admired you for that Harry. After all we were still in school at the time..." And on and on and on he goes till dad is forced to remind him that the train will be leaving soon and he doesn't want to miss sending his kids off, does he?

So he leaves and my dad comes over to say goodbye till Christmas. Even though he might not be there. But that's the thing about being Harry Potter's kid. Daughter to the most famous man in the wizarding world, defeater of Voldemort, auror extraordinaire. Every time he leaves, we don't know if it'll be the last time he does.

Okay so I know that was incredibly short but I just wanted to get back into the flow of writing. I've been away from it for quite some time now and I need time to get back into things.

For those of you that read any of my other stories, *winces and looks away guiltily* I'm truly sorry I haven't finished them but I didn't seem to be able to find the inspiration to write until one day the idea for this came into my head. I will go back and finish them all off but I need to get my mojo back which might take some time.

Please R&R.

Your incredibly sorry servant SelarahMorgan
