"A High School Date"
Emily Prentiss opened the front door of her apartment to find Aaron Hotchner standing there with a bouquet of flowers in his hands.
"Hotch, what are you doing here? And why do you have flowers?" Emily asked.
"Emily, outside of work, you call me Aaron," Hotch said, "Anyway, I'm here to take you out on a date."
Emily sighed, "Aaron, we've been dating for three months now. You should know by now that I don't like surprise dates. I don't like surprises at all."
Aaron smiled, "I know, but I've been planning this for a while now. Ever since you said you never dated in high school, as your boyfriend, I thought I should take you on a stereotypical high school date. Just so you've had the experience.
"You are such the romantic," Emily said rolling her eyes while getting a vase to put the flowers in.
"Please just trust me on this," Aaron begged her.
Finally giving in, Emily said, "Oh, ok. Let's go."
After a twenty minute drive, they pulled into a bowling alley.
"You're taking me bowling?" Emily asked still unsure of how she felt about her current situation.
"Yes, I am, and I promise you that it'll be the best date we've had," Aaron responded.
He quickly grabbed a couple of bowling balls, rental shoes, and a pizza for them to split.
After bowling a strike and a celebratory hug from Aaron, Emily said, "This has actually been a pretty good date as far as surprise high school dates go."
"I'm glad you're having a good time," he said kissing her on the cheek.
After a couple of games of playful banter, Emily beat Aaron best two out of three.
When they arrived back at her apartment, Aaron walked her up to her door to kiss her good night as he always did.
"Did you really have a good time?" he asked her.
"Even though I still don't like surprises, I did have a really good time tonight," she responded with a smile on her face.
As Aaron leaned in to kiss her good night, he looked her in the eyes and said, "Emily Prentiss, I love you."
Smiling even more, she replied, "Aaron Hotchner, I love you, too."
